I saw you at -15 on a couple of rather innocuous posts today. I don't know if that's 15 tards from MDE or 15 accounts of the old man, but you've got somebody's attention.
When I was a little girl, I remember this kid I went to school with who was a complete loser and everyone picked on him. I think that's because he ate his snot all the time in front of everyone? Anyways, his older brother was an artist guy who used to draw these little comic strips about superheroes or something and I remember the little brother always complaining being like "He isn't doing it right." and "That's a stupid power. Only dumb heros would have that power."
Anyways, the little brother complained and complained and complained and finally the older brother was like "Why don't you draw?" and LB replied with "Well, um - I'm not good at drawing. But that's because I don't have the fancy color pencils you use!"
So the older brother let his sibling borrow his expensive color pencils and this little retard drew up the most dumb shit ever. It was like some stick figures or some shit. I think he said one of the dumb scribbles he drew was called "Psycho-Wave" and he could explode anything that was metal or something? Everyone laughed at his little idiot's drawings and the little brother was like "Whatever,you guys don't know shit. You don't know comics. I know comics. You are all dumb. I know what I am doing, idiot."
Anyways, I don't know where am I going with this extremely long and stupid story, but for some reason it reminds me of POC issues in film/media today.

Indians are literally the wealthiest ethnicity in the U.S. and are over-represented in all kinds of prestigious careers. If the biggest thing they have to complain about is that people who've never met an Indian find them strange, they can check their privilege.
I do kinda get where they're coming from on this one. There are hardly any Indian characters in American TV and film, so to have the main one be a joke at their expense must be kinda annoying.
That said, not really the Simpsons problem. All their characters are parodies. Groundskeeper Willie for example is just as much an offensive Scottish stereotype. It's stupid to claim the Simpsons is responsible for making Apu a sympathetic, honest character when none of the others are.
Blame the media who thinks "diversity" means "more black people" and nothing else.
Apu, by far, is the most notable Indian character in American media and it's infuriating in a way because that's all people see when they see me or my dad. The "thank you, come again" refrain, the absolutely god-awful Indian accent Hank Azaria does, the fact that he's an awful person (constantly cheap, cheats on his wife, immoral in business, etc.). it paints an awful picture of Indian people in general.
Funny you should say that, /u/thefilmer: every Indian I know is cheap, has immoral business practices, and is generally not a great rolemodel in family life. I didn't know those were stereotypes. Thanks for letting me know to expect this behavior from everyone I meet that looks a certain way!
