The dox was never posted to /r/Calgary, it was just the guy saying that he doxxed the guy and reported him to his employer. Saying "I doxxed someone" and actually posting a dox to the sub are two different things.

Many commenters said he didn't deserve to live. Some suggested they'd kill him, given the chance. On the Calgary Humane Society's Facebook post that announced he had been charged with a non-criminal offence, one person responded with no words, posting only an animated image of a swinging noose.

Besides that guy just made a mistake. I think it's terrible that one little mistake that anyone could have made ends in such tragedy for him and his family.
God damn that's fucked up. Same exact thing happened to an elderly family friend. She was vacuuming car and the dog somehow got in. She closed the door. Went inside. Came back outside a few hours later looking for the dog. It passed within that short time. The grief she experienced believing she was completely at fault for the dogs death was life changing. This woman experienced a lot in her life. Luckily she was too old from Facebook. The real animals are the people assuming that his reasonable explanation was false.
/r/Calgary is a very weird place, Calgary is a pretty right leaning place but the sub is obviously full of left leaning individuals which is fine and pretty typical for reddit. However lately many people with differing opinions started posting on the sub and the sub quickly went downhill with in fighting. The mods have banned nearly every right winger.
