Trouble afoot in the cannabis cultivation community after a plant fertilizer company is caught giving discounts for positive reviews.

Between 2014 and 2015, the cannabis cultivation community was flooded by shills when a fertilizer company, Humbolt's Secret, began giving huge amounts of growers discounts on their wares in exchange for positive reviews. Although most exposure of this misdeed can be found on the company's Amazon listings, two growery forums had brief shake-ups after well-respected members gave glowing reviews:

Is Humbolt's Golden Tree truly superior to CannaBoost? Is the price a ripoff or merely a pittance for the dankest nugs? Hopefully it's good cuz I bought some for my vegetable garden.

It's about ethics in weeeeeeeeeed, man

People take recreational drugs way too seriously. I thought these things are supposed to make you "chill"?

tbf, this is more of a complicated hobby/livelihood than a drug habit, since they're actually growing it and there are a lot of factors involved, so it's not too surprising that people are getting bent out of shape.

all hippies are subhuman and should be stripped of their rights
