@the mods, in case you're wondering, this is why I've never come to a meet-up/social event/happy hour, or any of the other very generous invites users on here have made to socialize.

There's a persistently toxic element in this sub that's lost perspective. I'm not talking about people I regularly argue with (y'all are wrong, but I love you). I'm talking about people (or maybe just one fucked up person) who will do extracurricular research to try and find out your real world identity because they disagree with your politics.

I don't recommend that anyone on this sub meet anyone else on this sub, IRL. It's only a matter of time before someone abuses that implicit trust connecting your real identity to the villain they've made you out to be in their head and tries to doxx you.

I know some of you know some others of you IRL, I've seen plenty of passing references to it. But knowing someone 'is a good guy!' isn't justification to ignore doxxing. That shit has to be taken very seriously.

I've vented anger at Twitter and at least 2 or 3 were at Trump tweets. Since I called him a cunt and said "drop dead" that was enough to open an investigation off an anonymous tip.

The tweets sent were deleted, but someone screenshot them and sent them to the FBI. I think I know who it was and other people agree, but since there is "no proof" he's not banned from the sub, and admins can't do shit.
