What is true is that Marx accepts the then-dominant stereotype of Jews as excessively concerned with money and bargaining, and this leads him to suggest that the way to solve the problem of anti-Semitism is for society itself to move beyond money and bargaining. That was the first indication that Marx saw economic transformation as the key to transforming consciousness.
