Well that's kinda acceptable as I said - merely separating the couple isn't the atrocity that sending one of them to prison would be; and hiding a relationship from parents isn't the most difficult task nor is it particularly high-stakes dangerous either - so many will still get away with it, and the smartest minors will be more successful at getting away with it (which is kind of a Darwinian solution to the whole "protecting stupid minors" thing - those that are smart don't need protection and are also less affected).

Well that's kinda acceptable as I said - merely separating the couple isn't the atrocity that sending one of them to prison would be; and hiding a relationship from parents isn't the most difficult task nor is it particularly high-stakes dangerous either - so many will still get away with it, and the smartest minors will be more successful at getting away with it (which is kind of a Darwinian solution to the whole "protecting stupid minors" thing - those that are smart don't need protection and are also less affected).
Society goes along with the consequences for such relationships being this miniscule and the probability of sneaking it past the parents being anything but.

As someone who has seen very broad laws being abused, I don't like seeing very broad rules that will be abused and not evenly enforced.
