The events that affected my soul in a direct way started in 1982 when America permitted the Israelis to invade Lebanon and the American Sixth Fleet helped them in that. This bombardment began and many were killed and injured and others were terrorised and displaced.
I couldn't forget those moving scenes, blood and severed limbs, women and children sprawled everywhere. Houses destroyed along with their occupants and high rises demolished over their residents, rockets raining down on our home without mercy.
The situation was like a crocodile meeting a helpless child, powerless except for his screams. Does the crocodile understand a conversation that doesn't include a weapon? And the whole world saw and heard but it didn't respond.
In those difficult moments many hard-to-describe ideas bubbled in my soul, but in the end they produced an intense feeling of rejection of tyranny, and gave birth to a strong resolve to punish the oppressors.
And as I looked at those demolished towers in Lebanon, it entered my mind that we should punish the oppressor in kind and that we should destroy towers in America in order that they taste some of what we tasted and so that they be deterred from killing our women and children.
And that day, it was confirmed to me that oppression and the intentional killing of innocent women and children is a deliberate American policy. Destruction is freedom and democracy, while resistance is terrorism and intolerance.
Then every government on the planet is a terrorist organization, and you're a terrorist if you support said government.
One more for you:
Our seemingly insatiable appetite for stories with implausibly wicked baddies suggests that, even though they diverge from reality, archetypal villains correspond in some important way to how we see the world. Our thinking is subject to what Baumeister calls “the myth of pure evil.” When we do bad things, we are good at rationalizing our behavior as a momentary lapse or a reasonable and justified response to circumstances. When other people do bad things, though, it’s because they are just bad to the bone; we assume that evildoers are driven primarily by sadism and malice, inflicting harm for the sheer pleasure of doing so, while their victims are wholly innocent. The result is that, like Santa Claus, we have an irresistible compulsion to sort people into just two categories: good or bad, saint or sinner, naughty or nice.
Baumeister points out traces of the myth of pure evil not just in children’s comic books, but in the stories we tell to make sense of everyday life, too. The nightly news tends to focus on stories about arbitrary attacks on unsuspecting innocents. In the wake of the Columbine High School shootings, Time magazine emblazoned its cover with smiling pictures of the two perpetrators, accompanied by the headline THE MONSTERS NEXT DOOR. President George W. Bush played into the myth when he said that the terrorists behind the 9/11 attacks were driven by pure hatred of “our freedoms”—adding “these terrorists kill not merely to end lives, but to disrupt and end a way of life.”
Reality is complicated. Evildoers are rarely motivated by pure sadism and victims are not always entirely innocent. Violence is often the result of mutual provocation and escalating hostility. Heinous acts are often committed by people who are essentially ordinary, and who believe they are in the right. Through the myth of pure evil, however, we twist reality, with all its infinite shades of gray, into a black-and-white caricature of unassailable good versus irredeemable evil. “The myth of pure evil depicts malicious, alien forces intruding on the world of well-meaning, unsuspecting, virtuous people,” Baumeister wrote. “The world often breaks down into us against them, and it almost invariably turns out that evil lies on the side of ‘them.’”
Why is it not terrorism when the US government or some other government carpet bombs an entire nation and murders hundreds of thousands of people, but is terrorism when those same people attack said government?
"I no longer love blue skies. In fact, I now prefer grey skies. The drones do not fly when the skies are grey," a 13-year-old Pakistani boy named Zubair told Congress on Tuesday. Zubair was 12 when he and his younger sister, Nabeela, were injured in a drone strike near North Waziristan last October. "When sky brightens, drones return and we live in fear," Zubair told Rep. Alan Grayson and others at the congressional briefing.
Lol. Because Beirut was so nice before the Israelis came in. They had such nice buildings like the Holiday Inn.
How much of a sperg do you have to be to sit through 7 years of civil war, suddenly notice that somebody is committing atrocities, and then blame their ally on another continent for all the problems in your life?
The paradox of tolerance was described by Karl Popper in 1945. The paradox states that if a society is tolerant without limit, their ability to be tolerant will eventually be seized or destroyed by the intolerant. Popper came to the seemingly paradoxical conclusion that in order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must be intolerant of intolerance.
Equal in what way? I think men and women have equal rights and liberties. But when it comes to physical strength, for instance, men and women are not equal.
His question was "do you think". Women and men could have equal rights and liberties everywhere but that's doesn't automatically mean you're (an incel) ok with it. It's a simple question bozo. Drop the physical strength crap.
To think, I used to admire you... Oh how the great have fallen. You've taken this "le EBIN TROLL X~~~DDD" too far, scale back a bit my guy. You haven't transitioned in extremity slow enough

I'm sure there are extremely hospitable Al Qaeda terrorists too but it doesn't mean they shouldn't die along with their incel brethren.

How about you show some tolerance.
