There is this huge fad on reddit now where if you were to ask someone "between the US and China, which would be the most ethical and beneficial superpower in the world?", you'd get a lot of people saying either China or "both are just as bad." The fact that I routinely hear this opinion from people who are both highly educated and well traveled is completely baffling to me.
It's always popular to shit on the West in certain intellectual circles. It gives you cred - you signal that you understand how the world really works and that you recognize your success is undeserved.
I agree with letting the (🤠-♂️)s have a win, it sucks they're treated like shit everywhere and people get mad when someone treats them well, and they've been milk machines for us for 10k years
