I try to give these people the benefit of the doubt that they're genuinely stupid/uninformed instead of consciously malicious. (Not that stupidity can't still be dangerous of course.) I'm glad as a teenager I had ONE role model in my life that taught me it was okay to be a feminist and that feminism is about equal rights - I had literally never heard that before. Not in school, not at home, not from my peers, and definitely not in 90s/00s pop culture.
/u/steve_trevor - Hey bro! I'm a woman who's critical of feminism and you're a man who thinks I'm "genuinely stupid" for that. Can you explain how calling me stupid for expressing my viewpoint as a woman is "feminist?" Thanks buddy! (PS - I'm very inspired by how you post to /r/GotDisciplined about taking the trash out and doing your homework. Taking the trash out and doing homework is one of the scariest things that people have to do, so you're so brave for summoning the courage and discipline it takes to complete these daunting tasks.)
It's weird that they never considered that no one else told them feminism is about equal rights is because it's not. But suddenly because one person told her the word means that, it suddenly does and it is everyone else who has it wrong.
Fill her in on what feminism actually means. What it can do for men, not just women. And if you have leftover stamina after that ordeal, explain how a workplace that tolerates gender imbalance and sexual harassment is ultimately a worse competitor in the marketplace as it drives away extremely qualified individuals who know their damn worth.
Wait, which of them is meant to have leftover stamina after the ordeal?
Imagine going out for drinks with a coworker and you then have to get a finger wagged in your face the entire time because of the insecurity of an internet feminist. I
Oh ye gods and godesses a CoolGirl (tm) in the wild.
As if Gone Girl wasn't already a shitty enough movie it also popularised this stupid term. And anyone who doesn't agree with their stupid ideology is a "cool girl" who tries to suck up to guys.

Top text: We don't need to bring people down to achieve equality
Bottom text: We need to bring people down to achieve equality, and if they complain that's more proof they need to be brought down

I hope she also hates MRAs, because they're just as stupid. #radicalcentrism.

MRA's are actually more stupid, because feminists actually achieve their goals.

Explaining the progressive truth to alt-right fascist bigots is exhausting.

Note: in the real world, only around 20% of women call themselves feminists, and less than 10% of men.
1 TheRealTrueDarkLord 2018-05-06
So I decided to Google what feminism is, and I got this:
WOMEN'S RIGHTS!!! It's right in the name, /u/SummerDearest!
I know you might be wondering "But what about problems men face?" To that I tell you: We don't.
