I think the whole DSA is a psyop (taking over the existing group of a couple thousand boomer-commies), prolly CIA-ish. Goal being to corral potential troublemakers into something fairly harmless & gain more leverage on the Democrats. Probably get some social democratic reforms like single payer, nothing actually socialist.
