Honestly ppl r just mad that he's out their building soaceships n shit while their in their shitty hovels watching the. years go by knowing that they'll never accomplish anything in their miserable lives.
There just mad that Elon is innovating technology instead of creating UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME. Bruh these guys deserve free money for living in their mom's basement, they worked hard their entire lives spreading atheism
Space Daddy becomes more like Daddy every day. Failing businesses running up massive debts, massive egos, rabid cultists, receiving admiration for "telling it like it is."
I don't know about spacex (although I know they went into the venture knowing thin profit margins to begin with) but if you want delicious drama the whole Tesla mess is a beaut.
The state never bought private shares, they're not an investor in that sense.
The early funds they did receive were in exchange for development of an engine and launch vehicle, just like any other DoD subvention as you refer to it.
The rest is just the exchange of money for goods or services.
They are selling services for less than their competitors.
The development contracts aren't disproportionate either. The airforce alone used to invest about 300m dollars a year into developing rocket engines. Most of these programs were not really successfull, although the TR-106 is probably the reason that SpaceX even got of the ground.
They are selling services for less than their competitors.
Yes, space contract are well known to be basically subventions, wrapped in another clothe.
The airforce alone used to invest about 300m dollars a year into developing rocket engines. Most of these programs were not really successfull, although the TR-106 is probably the reason that SpaceX even got of the ground.
>Making the cost of research free is not subvention.
There's a difference between selling launch services in a competitive market for market conform prices and getting a 1b a year cost-plus contract that the CEO acknowledged being a subsidy.
By your definition any aerospace company is a failure because of subventions.
The real drama is when congress and ULA also realize this and start acting on it.
Congress actually killed ULA completely because Atlas V was everything to them. The only reason this didn't happen is because the senator in charge of the commitee that decides what NASA gets to spend money on killed it. (Atlas V is made in his district.)
Same with government surveillance and unchecked power by the alphabet agencies. Were you here in 2013 when Snowden released all his documents? It felt like this whole website was united in burning Washington to the ground and putting the heads of all the agencies in prison.
Now? Questioning the FBI or CIA is hurting the country and threatening the rule of law! If the FBI is spying on you it's probably because you did something wrong!
It's kind of different right though? If you're enough of a moron that you're actively seeking out foreign powers to help you and opening yourself to blackmail during a presidential campaign then I feel like the FBI should have a handle on that shit. If you're smoking weed I feel like the NSA doesn't need your text messages.
It's kind of different right though? If you're enough of a moron that you're actively seeking out foreign powers to help you and opening yourself to blackmail during a presidential campaign then I feel like the FBI should have a handle on that shit.
Like both campaigns did, yet only one had a spy implanted in it?
Because he's a felon and multiple members of the Trump campaign were felons?
The rest of your comment is basically what you'd get if you replaced the ability to think with an unwavering belief in the truth of Trump's twitter feed.
Ehh... not really. Both situations involve secret courts, and surveillance, and the potential violation of civil liberties. The thing with Snowden is that his docs proved the government was doing warrantless wiretaps and listening in on anyone they wanted. They were granted the authority through secret courts and unaccountable, nameless FISA judges...or nobody. When it came to accountability, no one was watching. Secret courts are not a part of the constitution.
Now what's playing out is that (allegedly) the FBI used those secret surveillance powers to spy on the Trump campaign when they thought the campaign was being infiltrated by Russia. Congress says "OK, got it. Just show us the evidence you used to apply for that secret FISA warrant, the scope of the investigation, and any other rationale used to investigate a presidential candidate." At which point the alphabets are saying "shhh, no bby s'ok. We can't show you the evidence. National security amirite??" The unaccountable alphabet agencies are hiding things from the people tasked with their oversight. If the roles were reversed and this was a Democratic investigation into the FBI and DOJ and they were stonewalling, this whole website would be nearly unusable from all the anti-government spam. Just like it was when Snowden released his docs.
it's possible to think that the media is bad and that musk is a baby whose tantrums on twitter over the minimal negative coverage he's getting, after being praised as a practical god for years, are absolutely fucking stupid.
yeah actually it is exactly what's happening here. he is being scrutinized because for most of tesla's existence it has not turned a profit, because of the abysmal rate that model 3s are being produced, etc. he is under immense pressure and he's cracking, it's manifested itself as him spending all day replying to literally everyone on twitter who criticizes him. people who are normal don't throw tantrums and call people chimps.
I'm seriously worried some DSA activist who lost his job at Gamestop because he tried to unionize the workplace is going to go nuts and try to kill this guy if he keeps this up. Stay safe elon
But nothing else to expect from People who give CNN their clicks, instead of just going on Twitter and seeing Musks own words for themself, without any extra bullshit added.
Folks, let me explain: This Website is not for you. It is for us, the People who already realized that the media across the entire planet is just one massive shitshow that cares only about Ratings / clicks instead of the truth. It is for People who already do their own Research, and dont just blindly eat up the horeshit that CNN/FOX/BReitbart/whoever present.
The rest of you will benefit once the work has been done. Until then, Keep being ignorant.

Spacex is failing?
1 Whaddaulookinat 2018-05-26
The Model 3 got ripped by (((consumer reports)))
1 ricksansmorty 2018-05-26
Wow that is gonna be a major blow to the company that builds launch vehicles.
Especially since middle-income households are the nr 1 buyer of satellite launches.

It depend on wether you consider massive subventions to stay afloat a failure or not.
1 ricksansmorty 2018-05-26
I don't consider investors wanting to invest in a company a failure.
1 dogDroolsCatsRules 2018-05-26
Even when the investor is the state ?
1 ricksansmorty 2018-05-26

Ah, yes, just exchange of money for good and service.
If a coffee shop get a million for a coffee cup from the state is it "just exchange of money for good and service" too ?
1 ricksansmorty 2018-05-26
They are selling services for less than their competitors.

Yes, pretty much.
1 ricksansmorty 2018-05-26
Maybe we have a misunderstanding of what a failure is.
1 dogDroolsCatsRules 2018-05-26
We are talking about entreprise. To succeed, one entreprise need to be alive without being constantly under perfusion by the state.
1 ricksansmorty 2018-05-26
Could you define this so it doesn't look like you're saying that companies that have the government as a customer are failures?
1 dogDroolsCatsRules 2018-05-26
That entreprises from other countries can apply for those contracts.
1 ricksansmorty 2018-05-26
So that makes Boeing a failure and Airbus a success?
1 dogDroolsCatsRules 2018-05-26
Working as intended.

Tbf Snowden basically exposed a warrant serving clearing house and analysis program. Not TIA 2.0 like he and Greenwald claimed.
The jucier stuff wound up in Chinese and Russian Intel services, if there was any if the Chinese and Russians wanted the US to have egg on its face.

1 Fiat-Libertas 2018-05-26
Because he was literally a profile. That's totally equivalent, right?
Meanwhile the bathroom server was never touched.
Let alone the Clinton campaign conspiring with British and Russian government to create a fake opposition research document
