While I largely believe in the value of individual human lives, I kind of view Chinese nationalists as disposable, and I don't really feel bad about it since the government they adore sees things the same way.

i spent a month in taiwan in 2016 and the place is swamped with mainland tourists-- they've got to be some of the rudest, most socially unaware people i've ever encountered. they cut lines, shove past you without apology and they're always in these massive groups bc they all tour by bus. the doors open and they all swarm out like bees. i've traveled europe fairly extensively and recently there's been TONS of chinese bus tourists there too, but they don't act so brazenly fucking stupid as they did in taiwan. i swear it was like they had some sort of superiority complex when on the island.
