Well as someone who identifies as trans nonbinary I have to respectfully disagree.
While I don't mind people using the pronoun 'he', I prefer 'they' personally. I have no interest in being special or gaining attention. I have plenty of traits that make me interesting, my gender identity is not one of them. However, my identity no matter what anyone says, is fluid and depends on how I feel. Yu cannot determine how people feel internally about their identity, and nor can you realistically box 7.6 billion people into two categories.
Very few nonbinary or genderfluid etc people do it for attention, because realistically, you only have to look at this post to see how much negative attention we get. We are constantly denied, constantly considered fake, silly, liars, and are rendered invisible by people's disdain and disrespect. There is nothing positive attention wise about being outside the binary.
Honestly if I could be one or the other, my life would be significantly easier and less painful. But I cannot, so I am not.
Gender is a feeling defined by your upbringing, by social constructs and deeply ingrained ideas of masculinity and femininity.
