Doing drugs makes you think you're happy but you're not. That's the whole point of doing drugs (for poor people.) Blur out the pain, chase the next high, distract you from the reality of being poor. Keeps you poor, keeps you unhappy, keeps you chasing that high.
Only way out is to trade drugs for exercise and taking care of yourself. Then you can work your way to a better life, have a daughter, realize how empty life is even when you're at your best, and Bourdain yourself.

Oh damn, just found out that he died. That's legit sad. Always liked the guy and his shows. But he had chronic problems with drugs and alchohol, so he surely must've been fighting his own demons for lord-knows how long.
