The litany of subs on here discussing crypto and the advice being given makes me think that like most of reddit, it's under age kids offering what they feel is sage advice to thousands of suckers.
I wouldn't be shocked if the vast majority of crypto subs are literal shills, tbh.
when I was looking into how much Reddit accounts sold for a while back and browsing various account buying/selling forums a common request was accounts with positive karma in a crypto currency sub.
It is. Reddit is the worst place to get trading/investment advice. It's a bunch of True Believers trying to convince themselves to just HODL by desperately trying to convince others to do the same.
There's plenty of money to be made in crypto, but the reality is, anyone who actually believes individual coins are THE NEXT BIG THING should invest in timeshares instead.
Are you a gambling addict? Spending 1k on this hilariously ridiculous idea was dumb to begin with and you're about to be a bagholder in a huge scam. Take your remaining money and purchase booze at full market price so you can wash away to horrible choices you've made.
For anyone who, like myself, hasn't followed it closely on a day-to-day basis, the high was $20,000 in Dec. 2017 and it's at $6,200 now. Looks like each hiccup is causing more people to pull out of the market as it becomes clear that the "to the moon" phase of the bubble is over.
Bitcoin is retarded. The whole point of currency is that it's backed by something. US currency is backed by the military, Bitcoin is backed by REEEEEEEing neckbeards.
As someone who has made a lot of terrible investments, this is great because other morons are selling their coins and following the same terrible logic to the same conclusions as me. When I've only lost half my life-savings I'm going to sell and buy a wolf.
Honestly when it hits the hundreds it will be usable as long as it stabilizes. Being the original is a valuable thing sociologically. That being said crypto is one 1st world government ban from being dead.
Honestly when it hits the hundreds it will be usable as long as it stabilizes.
This has always been the stupid thing about bitcoin fanatics. For bitcoin to be any use as a currency, it has to have a stable price. People buying it expecting "mad gainz" are inherently expecting it to be useless for it's intended purpose, and therefore worthless!
That being said crypto is one 1st world government ban from being dead.
nah, crypto isnt going back in the box, itll have value for cybercriminals and dudes trying to buy RCs as long as theres a functional dark web infrastructure. itd take a coordinated us/eu ban to completely kill it for white/grey market usage too, although any major geopolitical leader taking substantial action against it would pretty much guarantee it never gets more popular than it is.
So the bad ones will go away, no one will want to create more and only a handful will be left? Not really guy in boxers lol. Bad coins, just like bad companies will continue to be created and the market will always have them.
Right.
However, when more investors are involved and it goes more mainstream, the dynamic will change in favor of the ones that have a reason to exist. The others will be like Penny stocks, known to be used only for speculation and the majority of investors will be invested in the good stuff.
“The scamminess is totally going to go away, because that always happens when there’s a large influx naive cash into a regulation averse marketplace that’s difficult to control by design and full of existing players desperate for a payout.”
Something the extremely poor and stupid would and should understand. Don't ask questions, don't dig deeper, and just enjoy where you're at since you don't know what it is.
I've never doubted that someone does manipulate the price of BTC and now it's pretty obvious. I prefer Ethereum and the tokens which were issued on ERC20, Cryptics qrp, for example. One of the few decent projects among the hords of the scammers, in my opinion.

It's almost as if people use it as a stock and not a currency, leading to instability.
1 WeWuzKANG5 2018-06-13
It's an ignored fundamental issue of crypto. Until the currencies flat line at a stable rate they can't be used like fiat at all.
1 saddertadder 2018-06-13

cmon who doesnt want a currency nobody can use to buy anything and that fluctuates wildly by hundreds of percent
1 minority360 2018-06-13
It was widely used on the darknet. Now that it's so volatile other coins are being used as legitimate currencies.

It's all shills, if you unironically take investment advice from anonymous people on Reddit then you deserve whatever happens to you.

They're getting pretty close to back down to the original pricing. However that's still bad considering it should already be lower.
