They believe white people can't be discriminated against, they can't say that cause it's not true, so by changing the definition of the word used for discrimination based on race to not include white people they can imply white people are never victims of discrimination without having to actually make the untennable argument explicitly

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the debate in academic sociology just about whether sociology itself has moved beyond discussions of interpersonal racism? And whether "racism" should be used as a shorthand for institutionalized racism or whatever in an academic context? If that's the case, these pseudointellectuals really need to shut the fuck up since Twitter is not an academic setting. Not to mention the debate isn't even settled in academia. Either way, "correcting" the standard definition of racism used by millions of English speakers is what happens when people with lukewarm IQs think their BAs from Bumfuck University automatically make them enlightened.
