I wanted to elastrate (do you really want to click that link?) myself before I understood that I was a pedo. I had downloaded some softcore child porn (outside statute of limitations by like a decade, so whatever, I can admit it), but I didn't think it was weird to be interested in girls that close to my age. I hadn't put any thought into who was paying for those videos (because autism), I couldn't tell a real smile from a fake smile (autism again), and I couldn't listen to the audio so I didn't hear the stern Ukrainian woman barking orders at the girls.
From my more recent reading, which started from some chemical castration discussion, there's a category of trans women who don't notice that anything is wrong until they're going through male puberty. And it's not uncommon for them to be attracted to women. So maybe my ongoing joke to myself that I'm a lesbian in a man's body isn't far from the truth.
Hey I hate to gravedig but I have an honest question, if you wouldn't mind answering it of course.
When you say "gender dysphoria" what exactly do you mean by that? Doesn't that stand out to you that maybe the issue isn't with the fact that you were "born in the wrong body/genitalia" but rather that that there is a severe underlying mental issue at play here? To give an analogy, if my brother decided to one day tell me that he is "a cactus born in the wrong body", then I can guaran-damn-tee my families solution wouldn't be to plant him in the desert and replace his hair with needles. We would sit his ass down and be like "bro. Look around you. I know you WANT to be a dinosaur, but the facts are you are a human being." like, the answer is right there. You have a fully developed penis. Turning your skin green don't make you a cactus, much like surgically turning a man's penis into something that resembles a vagina certainly doesn't make them a women or vice versa. Just seems like supporting delusions.
I know this was probably hard to follow but this is something I think about and genuinely have questions about.
For the cactus thing, you're exactly right. And that's also what used to happen with trans folk. But with trans stuff, there does seem to be some legit neuroscience behind brain differences between sexes, not concrete yet, but some general tendencies.
I would push it out of my mind, like I've been doing for most of my life, but maybe some simple stuff is worth an experiment.
As for the idea of a male woman or female man, consider that it's a little bit silly to refer to a creature that looks like a duck, swims like a duck, quacks like a duck, flies like a duck, etc, as actually a rabbit because it has rabbit DNA.
