Just a quick lesson for anyone who ever attempts to help someone who is actively drowning and you don’t want to drown to:
Go up behind them and place your arms under their arms and back over their shoulders giving you control. Never approach a drowning person especially if you don’t have a bouy to reach out to them from the front.
Lift them up against the front of you so your positioned laying backwards and can use your legs and floating to get you to something solid for both of you to grab onto.
If you can’t get into that position and they grab you, Option 1 immediately sink yourself. Drowning people typically let go when you forcibly move them under and deeper. Option 2 if they are drowning hit them, kick, bite, whatever to make them let go. (Not kidding).
Or unless they are a family member, just let them drown. People have rescued drowning victims in the past and gotten sued for interference in a suicide attempt. Better to be safe than sorry.
Tip two: if its a black man drowning, just throw child support payment forms into the river and naturally that he will learn to swim instantly and end up back on land to flee.
Tip three: If it's a mayo drowning, throw a Mexican in the river as they are used to Mexicans doing everything for them.
Imagine jumping into dirty, probably aids infested water to save a guy who's drowning only to get held underwater till you die, and then the bastard who held you down doesn't even have the decency to not drown.

Your condescending, contradictory bullshit isn't attractive to anyone except your frothing, basement-dwelling, virgin army.
