If the antifa guy dies, the circumstances will change. The laws in Oregon make a distinction between the use of physical force for self defense and the use of deadly physical force for self defense. So while the puncher's actions were fine for self defense, he may not necessarily be fine for using deadly force.

There is no reasonable or logical thought process where conservative thought is justified. The tax revenue could fund responsible use drug education and allow treatment centers to be better equipped and more effective, this would also help reduce the stigma of both drug use and abuse, with abuse being treated similarly to alcohol abuse is. That makes capitalism AT LEAST 8 TIMES more efficient at killing people than socialist and "communist" regimes.
If you OVERestimate, capitalism has killed over 1.3 BILLION people in the last 100 years, making it 19x more efficient at killing people because of inefficiency and incompetence.
Now imagine including the wars.
Capitalism forces us to look at these problems and accept them as part of life.
It feels like just because it's not someone pointing a gun at another person, and you have access to 20 types of cereal and an iPhone, Capitalism gets a pass on all this crap.
But misery, hunger, suffering and death are still there, and are just as real. They just drag for longer to the point we all get used to it. It's all just a horror picture constantly playing in the background of our lives.
And to me, that makes it worse, because in a way it's as if we're all pulling a very slow trigger, and we're supposed to be PROUD of it.
And that's the real atrocity here. Capitalism turns us into monsters, and we are proud of it as a civilization.
Capitalism has flaws but it has ushered the greatest period of wealth and prosperity this world has known. Capitalism is just a series of voluntary interactions that benefit both parties. Yea it does mean that to survive you need to be able to offer society something of value and we all arent equally competent. It's the best system because it keeps the incentives in a positive direction.
When the robots come and we have mass unemployment I'll entertain some more progressive ideas. But the evidence seems overwhelming at this point. Our poor struggle with obesity. Think about that. Gluttony is killing poor people. That us how successful capitalism is. It is the most efficient means of distributing reaources.

Metrics like economic health don't fully speak to social or cultural problems in a country, and a good populist leader or radical group can convince people that there are serious problems where there aren't, or that the problems that do exist are much worse than they actually are, or that the problems they do have are caused by a group of outsiders, etc.

The alt-right is not full of gym bros - you can see that easily by their photos. And while the alt-right aren't all incels, pretty much all incels are alt-right. Think of it as racism and republicans - it's not quite the reality, but it changes the optics.
But what the alt-right has done is create a mlitant wing - it's the Browshirts approach, and it's paying the same dividends as it did in the 30s. The formula has even remained the same - court and cultivate some big dudes, organize them, and put them out in front.

Yeah, that makes sense to me. If the guy dies though, I imagine a closer look will be taken. There is video after all. The twitter guy in the screencap, Dr Olmo, who is claiming "even if he dies" is clearly bragging. There's difference between justifiable physical force and justifiable deadly physical force. "That soyboy was obviously frail" sounds like the opposite of a defense that it was not disproportionate. It's all fun and street brawling games until there's an actual body count.
I'm not saying Nordean did anything wrong to fight back, and I sincerely doubt that he meant to (potentially) kill him. That met the legal requirements for self-defense. Even if it ended up being lethal self-defense. If the antifa guy dies, the circumstances will change. The laws in Oregon make a distinction between the use of physical force for self defense and the use of deadly physical force for self defense. So while the puncher's actions were fine for self defense, he may not necessarily be fine for using deadly force.
IMO this could (but probably won't) be one of the uncommon circumstances where the DA would consider indicting despite the PD not finding probable cause on the day of the protest.

There is no reasonable or logical thought process where conservative thought is justified. So in 10 years, capitalism kills more children under the age of 5 than socialism did in 150 years.

We have enough food to feed 10 billion people. Even assuming 20% of it is lost, we could still feed the entire population of the world. But we don't, because the logistics of it is expensive and inefficient. Because developing poor countries is too expensive, and sending them food "disrupts the local markets".
If these people didn't need to operate under capitalism to survive, sending them food wouldn't be an issue. If we prioritized things properly, we could develop self-sustainable agriculture projects everywhere in the world.
But we don't. Because of capitalism.
Or something closer to us in the west:
"But who's going to pay for it?"
All major developed countries on Earth offer universal healthcare. The US doesn't, and blames it on costs and making sure the "markets" are open for insurance companies, so that citizens "have options". All these claims are demonstrably false, and universal healthcare is known to be cheaper and more efficient.
We could be preventing all those deaths. But we don't, because of capitalism.
Many of these factors are related, and they are all connected to problems with capitalism. We could offer high quality education and social support for these people. We could have programs that are more inclusive to minorities. But we don't, because that's too expensive, and that gives us a reason to not take these problems seriously.
You can't NOT blame this one on capitalism and the belief in free markets as perfect systems for managing resources.
"But you can't blame war for resources on capitalism!"
Then why does socialism gets blamed for even less involvement?
These motivations are something socialism and communism actively fight against. This is exactly the kind of problem that we are trying to solve by getting rid of capitalism.

Because of capitalism, we find ourselves in ridiculous situations like this, and everyone thinks it's NORMAL AND OK.

And this is just the things I bothered searching in 10 minutes. There are many more things I could tie to capitalism.
From this alone we can already see that, even excluding the wars, capitalism has easily killed more than three times the amount that is attributed to socialism in a fifth of the time, due to the same sort of "inefficiency and incompetence" as it is attributed to socialism.
Excluding the wars, a rough UNDERestimate using the above figures adjusting for global population size every 25 years, puts capitalism death toll at 400-700 million people in the last century alone.
That makes capitalism AT LEAST 8 TIMES more efficient at killing people than socialist and "communist" regimes.
If you OVERestimate, capitalism has killed over 1.3 BILLION people in the last 100 years, making it 19x more efficient at killing people because of inefficiency and incompetence.
Now imagine including the wars.
Capitalism forces us to look at these problems and accept them as part of life.
It feels like just because it's not someone pointing a gun at another person, and you have access to 20 types of cereal and an iPhone, Capitalism gets a pass on all this crap.
But misery, hunger, suffering and death are still there, and are just as real. They just drag for longer to the point we all get used to it. It's all just a horror picture constantly playing in the background of our lives.
And to me, that makes it worse, because in a way it's as if we're all pulling a very slow trigger, and we're supposed to be PROUD of it.
And that's the real atrocity here. Capitalism turns us into monsters, and we are proud of it as a civilization.

The drugs don't come in on border crossers either, you can get far more just through the post, with less witnesses. In a legal regime the government could produce drugs, sell them at cost through state drug stores, ensuring adults only have access and that they are sold things in proper dosage increments and standardized purity, with sterile, safe paraphernalia (To prevent transmission of diseases and damage from old or dirty gear). The tax revenue could fund responsible use drug education and allow treatment centers to be better equipped and more effective, this would also help reduce the stigma of both drug use and abuse, with abuse being treated similarly to alcohol abuse is. Harm reduction measures such as reagent testing, injection and use sites, etc would further alleviate problems arising from use as well. It is against the value of liberty to prohibit recreational substances from consenting adults, and gives police justification for their militarization that's been going on the past few decades.
Small town law enforcement does not need apcs and other specialized military and intelligence hardware, it only reinforces societal distrust, nor does every single cop need a weapon on them at all times, they should at the very least have extra training or certification in advanced deescalation tactics or only have them in their car to respond to lethal threats and lethal threats only to lead to them exploring more avenues for deescalation, prior to even considering deadly force. Also, prices of drugs would be drastically lower in a legal market allowing users to partake without breaking the bank financially further reducing property crime associated with addictions.
In conclusion the war on drugs is the single greatest injustice to happen today, and it even fails to deliver results. Heroin, meth, or crack will never be completely eradicated, no drug will be, prohibition just harms users and causes a plethora of problems. Also, to clarify, some substances, ie carfentanil are too potent to not be considered chemical weapons and should still be regulated as such. Until the police unilaterally end enforcement of drug laws I consider them an enemy of the people and an oppressive force designed to keep the working class down at the behest of the monied elite

There is no reasonable or logical thought process where conservative thought is justified. If these people didn't need to operate under capitalism to survive, sending them food wouldn't be an issue. If we prioritized things properly, we could develop self-sustainable agriculture projects everywhere in the world.
But we don't. Because of capitalism.
Or something closer to us in the west:
"But who's going to pay for it?"
All major developed countries on Earth offer universal healthcare. The US doesn't, and blames it on costs and making sure the "markets" are open for insurance companies, so that citizens "have options". All these claims are demonstrably false, and universal healthcare is known to be cheaper and more efficient.
We could be preventing all those deaths. But we don't, because of capitalism.
Many of these factors are related, and they are all connected to problems with capitalism. We could offer high quality education and social support for these people. We could have programs that are more inclusive to minorities. But we don't, because that's too expensive, and that gives us a reason to not take these problems seriously.
You can't NOT blame this one on capitalism and the belief in free markets as perfect systems for managing resources.
"But you can't blame war for resources on capitalism!"
Then why does socialism gets blamed for even less involvement?
These motivations are something socialism and communism actively fight against. This is exactly the kind of problem that we are trying to solve by getting rid of capitalism.

Because of capitalism, we find ourselves in ridiculous situations like this, and everyone thinks it's NORMAL AND OK.
Capitalism discourages us from helping others because that is seen as "unfair". What's the point of having good intentions under capitalism?
And this is just the things I bothered searching in 10 minutes. There are many more things I could tie to capitalism.
From this alone we can already see that, even excluding the wars, capitalism has easily killed more than three times the amount that is attributed to socialism in a fifth of the time, due to the same sort of "inefficiency and incompetence" as it is attributed to socialism.
Excluding the wars, a rough UNDERestimate using the above figures adjusting for global population size every 25 years, puts capitalism death toll at 400-700 million people in the last century alone.
That makes capitalism AT LEAST 8 TIMES more efficient at killing people than socialist and "communist" regimes.
If you OVERestimate, capitalism has killed over 1.3 BILLION people in the last 100 years, making it 19x more efficient at killing people because of inefficiency and incompetence.
Now imagine including the wars.
Capitalism forces us to look at these problems and accept them as part of life.
It feels like just because it's not someone pointing a gun at another person, and you have access to 20 types of cereal and an iPhone, Capitalism gets a pass on all this crap.
But misery, hunger, suffering and death are still there, and are just as real. They just drag for longer to the point we all get used to it. It's all just a horror picture constantly playing in the background of our lives.
And to me, that makes it worse, because in a way it's as if we're all pulling a very slow trigger, and we're supposed to be PROUD of it.
And that's the real atrocity here. Capitalism turns us into monsters, and we are proud of it as a civilization.

Yea it does mean that to survive you need to be able to offer society something of value and we all arent equally competent. Whether or not gym-goers lean conservative doesn't have any bearing on whether or not the alt-right is physically fit. Physically fit gym-going people make up a small proportion of the American population, but a moderately larger percentage of people who are gym-going lean conservative. Out of all Americans who lean conservative, there is a small proportion who are 'alt-right'. There is no information as to how much overlap there is between conservative-leaning people who are gym-going and conservative people who are 'alt-right'. Most gym-goers who leans conservative would have to identify as 'alt-right' to make the alt-right a movement full of buff people. However, because the alt-right consists of radical movements, and radical movements almost exclusively draw in people who underperform at life in some respect, the pool of right-leaning physically fit people who might be recruited into some alt-right ideology would have to be further restricted to people who have some serious problems in their lives. Pair that with plenty of video and photographic footage of alt-right demonstrations and it's pretty obvious that the alt-right is not populated by physically fit people. And that's taking into account those who were self-confident enough to show themselves at an alt-right demonstration, who may not represent the average /pol/ poster. There's also the fact that conservative areas on average tend to be fatter and that there are many forms of exercise that don't require a gym membership, including ones such as jogging and biking that tend to be more popular in areas that lean left. Going from 'people who go to the gym lean right' --> 'the alt-right is full of musclemen' is a ridiculous jump in logic. I mean, you can continue to think that if it makes you feel better about yourself, but it doesn't change your own sad situation. Even if all of those kekistanis were greek gods it wouldn't increase your probability of being attractive or having a happy life.

People join radical groups because they're stuck in a bad situation, e.g. unemployment or some other form of economic distress, social isolation, the presence of another radical group causing problems or other forms of political/social instability, etc. Radicalism is adopted by people with serious problems in their lives, whether it be personal, environmental or a mixture of both.
The Nazi party exploited populism and problems that were directly affecting the people to come to power. Hitler made the public feel like they were under attack by a foreign power. He amplified and preyed upon their problems and insecurities, assigned a simple cause for the problems and insecurities, and then offered a solution. It's the same way that any radical group recruits, just on a much larger scale than what is happening in the fringe groups currently in the US.
Also,
Somebody's situation doesn't have to be objectively bad for them to feel lost, disenfranchised, like their society is crumbling, etc. If that were the case then radical groups wouldn't be on the rise in the West, where most adults are gainfully employed and live in comfort. Metrics like economic health don't fully speak to social or cultural problems in a country, and a good populist leader or radical group can convince people that there are serious problems where there aren't, or that the problems that do exist are much worse than they actually are, or that the problems they do have are caused by a group of outsiders, etc.

The alt-right is not full of gym bros - you can see that easily by their photos. And while the alt-right aren't all incels, pretty much all incels are alt-right. Think of it as racism and republicans - it's not quite the reality, but it changes the optics.
But what the alt-right has done is create a mlitant wing - it's the Browshirts approach, and it's paying the same dividends as it did in the 30s. The formula has even remained the same - court and cultivate some big dudes, organize them, and put them out in front.
Rufio, Tiny, etc - they're the result of this sort of paramilitary approach.
So far Antifa has remained nameless, faceless, and disorganized. That's largely why they're generally harmless. Of course, the next logical step is for them to form their own dedicated paramilitary wings. I expect that things will get more interesting in the next few years.
