It treats invented behavioural "problem" with addictive substance.
It's not science. In terms of "scientific" value, it's one step removed from lobotomy. Lobotomy tried to remove offending synapses, adderall is trying to present silence them.
Have you received a lobotomy? There is good science behind ADHD and its treatment. ADHD is over-diagnosed but it is real and stimulants do help most people.

At therapeutic dosages addiction and withdrawal are practically nothing. When I go without my meds I just get really hungry and revert back to not being able to focus.

Not really. Stimulants help increase the availability of dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain, which are reabsorbed too quickly in someone with ADHD. Some people don't work well with stimulants, but there are alternatives like guanfacine or atomoxetine that work great for some. Stimulants gave my sister anxiety issues but atomoxetine works great for her. I take an amphetamine and it works wonders for me.

You always have to laugh when people cite an organization that once prescribed lobotomy as a cure.
Psychology and psychiatry are not science.

Good thing you're not the one defining what is modern medicine, then

What's wrong with Adderall? I mean sure it doesn't last as long as some of the alternatives, but it works well for many people.
