My therapist told me this story. His son was 13 and told him that he thought he was gay. My therapist asked him why he thought that. The kid told him he thought he was gay because he thought about being gay a lot. Then he asked him if he thought about guys, or if he just thought about being gay. It was the second. Now he has a wife and kids.
I don't know if this has anything to do with this post, but it made me think of this.
Yeah, I wonder that with conversion therapy bans. It's like, if I tell my therapist I'm a pilot she'd say "Bitch shut up you work at a gym." But if I tell her I'm a man not the woman I obviously am, she might be legally banned from dissuading me.
I don't think that's count as conversion therapy by a sane persons definition; like they aren't trying to convince him not to be attracted to guys, they're explaining to him what being gay actually means.
Living as one’s identified gender, receiving cross-sex hormone therapy, and undergoing gender-affirming surgeries have all been found to alleviate gender dysphoria for appropriately diagnosed individuals1. Transitioning is known to reduce psychological issues2 such as depressive symptoms3, anxiety4, stress5, and suicidal tendencies5, while increasing overall quality of life6 and general functioning7.

Your condescending, contradictory bullshit isn't attractive to anyone except your frothing, basement-dwelling, virgin army.

I imagine there's a difference between just telling them you're the wrong gender and an actual gender dysphoria diagnosis.
