Leg amputee arrogance is one of the common rants in a lot of those groups (especially in Facebook groups).
Basically there are an overwhelming amount of leg amputees who don't understand that it's a lot easier to lose a leg then a hand (which affects everything from cleaning, typing, cooking, grooming yourself etc) but act like they have it harder. Nor do they understand that there are less decent arm prosthetics too. There is no Oscar Pistorius of arm amputees because we really don't have the technology to make up for a lost hand.
The absolute dumbest part of this is that The Rock did his due diligence, spent a huge amount of time with a guy that shares his characters disability and genuinely went out of his way to get into the perspective of a disabled person.
That's not good enough though. Be cause nothing ever is. Fuck.
It's a "damned if you do and damned if you don't" scenario with god.damn everything nowadays. Write a movie with male lead" why isn't it a woman", write a movie with a woman and they will say" why is isn't she a POC", write them as a POC Woman and they will say "why is she gay/trans/apple sauce?" Etc,etc,etc.
