You make the post in drama, and then you make and then you link the full comments of the drama post in /r/pinging, so that when you click on the post link there it brings you here.
To be honest with ya'll fams right now, "bring light to issues" is an almost entirely bullshit argument.
At one point in my life I had to consider a very real possibility that I have lung cancer, like out of nothing (besides smoking for like 15 years) I started coughing up prodigious amounts of phlegm with no other signs of infection, the first X-ray came out clean, a week later nothing changed and my doctor was like, sure, let's have another X-ray, those things are not all that reliable, and that shit has like 90% mortality rate so it was not a fun time for me at all, both sitting in a queue for an hour each time waiting for X-ray results (with all kinds of thoughts running through my head) and the entire rest of the time (with all kinds of thoughts running through my head).
During that time I developed a compassion to the people asking for trigger warnings, because if I were /u/spez but also me at the time, I'd be sorely tempted to ban every mention of the word "cancer" on reddit regardless if it's used as an insult, as a joke, or in /r/science news.
Because it was like, I can't influence the outcome by thinking those all kinds of thoughts so the best I can do is to forget all about it and live normally, except 5-10-20 times a day, I don't know, when browsing reddit to distract myself from my situation I saw the word "cancer" and it was like an ice cold shower every time and it didn't get any less bad because of the exposure because there was the underlying reason to feel like having a bucket of ice cold water dumped on me every time: my future could in fact be limited to the next few months.
So all this stuff about "making light of things" and "exposure therapy" or whatever is total bullshit. The only valid argument is that I don't have the right to make people stop wishing each other cancer just because that hurts me. I think that making them stop would hurt them more collectively than allowing them to do it hurts me personally. Especially when extended to cover all other things that are triggering to someone.
For about two months, then started again and hated myself for it, then switched to vape shit that probably is not going to kill me that way (and also I vape way less than I used to smoke because there's no need to finish the rest of the cigarette even after I got my fix, which used to artificially prop the dependency).
Yeah that's about how I feel when people use "autism" as an offensive word. Not on the same level as you felt, but pretty close. Glad your health is fine though.
Hahahahahahahaha How The Fuck Are "Trigger" Words Real hahaha Nigga You Survived Cancer Like Nigga The Word Won't Make It Come Back Just Chill Dude hahahahaha
ugh, the double standard is horseshit but the answer isn't to tell both sides to stop telling jokes it's to stop telling people what they are and aren't allowed to fucking joke about. Now we have both sides bitching about their feelings being hurt instead of everyone just growing the fuck up.

Sexual abuse is a serious problem.
It can still be joked about because humor can be about serious things too.
Why is this so hard to understand.
1 HodorTheDoorHolder 2018-08-02
No one has ever joked about anything as a means to bring light to any issues ever!!!
1 Wraith_GraveSpell 2018-08-02
Humor is never used as a coping mechanism either. Thats why there arent any depressed or otherwise mentally unstable comedians.

The problem is when it's mostly joked about instead of taken seriously.

I wonder why rape is so much funnier than murder? It's poke the funniest crime tbh.

Nothing is funnier than being told what you can and cannot laugh at
1 preserved_fish 2018-08-02
"We cannot ever laugh at Samantha Bee" is the exception to this rule apparently.

God damn she is unfunny. She talks like they do at the end of prescription commercials.
1 jaredschaffer27 2018-08-02
It's not that she's unfunny. It's that she's smugly, aggressively unfunny. It's actually incredible to behold how bad she is.
1 MG87 2018-08-02

Just because I do fentanyl doesn't mean I'm right wing. 🤬🤬🤬
1 Honk4Tits 2018-08-02
Either everything is okay or nothing is okay to joke about, I think nothing should be taboo in comedy.
1 MG87 2018-08-02
Man the right wing really doesn't like comedy
1 MR_CLARENCE_ASSLER 2018-08-02
Man, the left wing really doesn't like comedy.
