Nope, plus, you're allowed to make new accounts to avoid site-wide suspensions. You're just not allowed to evade subreddit specific bans.

There are some people that the admins ban on the spot whenever they make a new account, but getting suspended for mundane shit like this doesn't put you into that category.

You have to get banned several times before they IP ban you. Even then you'd probably have to be really annoying about it.

When your account get suspended from Reddit, they allow you to come back under new/alt account as long as you behave on it. That was confirmed by sodypop. Also, even if you are suspended, you can still read subs.

But considering current states of things, it's best to just use a throwaway account for r/drama shitposting.

My main gripe with Reddit is they don't even let the voting system work. All the hidden hacks and tweaks to counter voting like automatic algorithimic downvotes, and then even after all of that, moderators and admins often shortcircuit the whole system the site is based on by stepping in and culling threads they don't like that are popular.

I'm not opposed to moderation on principle, but it seems pretty fucking dumb to constantly invalidate the one defining characteristic of your website (i.e, the voting system).

No it doesn't. You just haven't been downvoted in a sub enough to notice. It happens if your karma count in a sub is below a certain threshold, and it's not up to the moderators what that threshold is. It's built in to reddit.
