If her parents were born slaves when they were born then they would have been 40 when she was born at a time when the average life expectancy in the USA was 47 years old. Even then, they wouldn't have lived as slaves, they would just have been born as slaves. If they had been slaves through their teen years then they would be well into their 50s by the time they had a child that would be alive today.
This isn't to say that there aren't any, or that it's impossible, but I don't think the very few people who could be alive today that had parents who were slaves can be realistically sighted as the reason for the dysfunction in the black community.

However people forget that this was the culmination of a man driving while under the drunk attempting to escape the police because it would violate his parole for a robbery conviction in which he assaulted the store owner. Wait a second... slavery ended in 1865. That's 153 years ago. The oldest living American was born in 1904 (as of 2015, because that was the latest validated list I could find). That's 113 years old. If her parents were born slaves when they were born then they would have been 40 when she was born at a time when the average life expectancy in the USA was 47 years old. Even then, they wouldn't have lived as slaves, they would just have been born as slaves. If they had been slaves through their teen years then they would be well into their 50s by the time they had a child that would be alive today.
This isn't to say that there aren't any, or that it's impossible, but I don't think the very few people who could be alive today that had parents who were slaves can be realistically sighted as the reason for the dysfunction in the black community.

However people forget that this was the culmination of a man driving while under the drunk attempting to escape the police because it would violate his parole for a robbery conviction in which he assaulted the store owner. At some point we need to encourage beating these kinds of people down. Violently removing them from the gene pool will only benefit the black community in the long run.
