Fun fact: one of the justifications anti-semitic groups in the UK gave for defending the Balfour Declaration was the hope that it would get some of Britain's Jews to move there.
Another reason was politicians who were pretty sure the idea that Jews ran the world was bullshit, but on the off chance they were wrong, they wanted Jewish interests to align with that of the UK.
