This piece doesn't do the story any justice. This was a horrific case of extreme abuse, rape, torture of a ten year old. The house where this took place (a squalid two up two down terraced house) was the fucking headquarters of the Green Party Coventry branch! The pair of them were involved in developing party "equality" policy and pushing for self ID laws with specific interest in allowing MtF trans to have adult leader roles with the girl guides etc. He was already a cub scout leader and some kind of volunteer for girls' gymnastics club.
