I’m always amazed how few people know about Gamergate. It’s not only the key to understanding so many violent harassment campaigns going on today, it’s lots of the same people angry about the same stuff using the same playbook.
Please explain how the Soviet Union of the 80s was weaker than the Soviet Union of the 60s. Also please explain how DPRK still exists if economic stagnation was the USSR collapsed.
It was a multitude of factors that's one of them, another reason is Glasnost and Perestroika. slowly and steady western propaganda ND goods made their way to the Soviet Union and Gorbachev himself started to realize the the flaws in isolationist of the west and the flaws of communism. Economic factors were the main cause though.
It really came down to Gorbachev and the attempted coup, it's really remarkable in that 10-20 men brought the greatest geopolitical change since 1945 singlehandedly.

Big Important Men syndrome is the easiest way to see that someone has no idea what they're talking about when it comes to history.

Their military was bleeding money due to 35 years of an arms race with US and their war in Afghanistan.

USSR spent 12 billion rubles over 7 years, do you really believe that's a lot?
