This only proves that I'm not MDEfugee, downie, autist, or any other labels you cucks try to put on me. I'm my own party, army and a movement. I'm an independent, thinking, rational person unlike you dumb sheep.
The joke is that this November your vote counts exactly as much as a senile retiree whose political sources are nestled between a thread of gay furry porn and a thread of kids wearing swimsuits.
If you're not using studio-grade headphones then it really doesn't matter what kind of file you're using anyway, as long as it isn't complete shit it'll sound good. Learn how to use an equalizer and git gud
Anyone convinced they can hear a difference between a FLAC and a well encoded lossy file needs to do a random ABX text. Likely you won't be able to tell the difference at any bitrate >192kbps. And you won't even do very well with 128kbps.
I used to say the same thing. One day I participated in a study on sound and clarity and noise pollution, where everyone else bailed and I had a team of scientists following around just me.
And after spending most of a day listening to the difference between 192/320/lossless, I was a fucking moron. That is clear as day, and can be especially pronounced in some kinds of music.
Then again this was all about speakers and headphones didn't come up. That could very well be different.
Have you ever done ABX testing? I thought the difference was obvious until I tried as well. To match my conditions you'd have to encode with a quality encoder like LAME tho, not just some random garbage.
I mean, 320kbps vs FLAC is mostly a moot point unless you're rocking some serious gear, but entry level "studio-grade" headphones start at like $150-200.
I'm far from rich lmao, just not so much of an utter poorfag I can't afford to drop $260 on some refurb Sennheisers that will last me a decade. I've easily spent at least twice that on shitty cheap headphones that would break in 3-6 months.
People bitch about audiophiles, but a good pair of cans close to the top of the diminishing returns curve is some of the best long-term value for money you can get in tech.
Or you could buy a pair of fingerless gloves, beg for spare change, bang a diseased hooker and strangle her to death to hear the sound of her choking and gasping in sweet analogue.

FLAC obsessors are always the kind of turbo autists you'd see fighting over FOSS linux shit 🤢🤮

It kind of makes sense since FLAC has the nice property of not being even remotely vulnerable to patent troll litigation.

at 128k the compression is pretty obvious, even on shitty cell phone speakers.

Have you ever done ABX testing?
1 trilateral1 2018-09-23
Just did. Gotta admit, the difference is much smaller than I thought. For AAC 128k is definitely enough.

People encode with something other than LAME? why
Yah, I can't tell at 192 and over, but 128 was p. obvious for non-shit songs w non-shit gear

I have no tried in a while, and when I did it it might have been with shitty Apple earbuds. I guess I'll try again.

That's far from unaffordable.

Try $100 for Sony studio headphones
I bet you're not even poor 😏

It must suck to be poor since that seems to force people to spend hundreds of hours each year ranting and raving about Apple products and customers.
Why can't they just get a job and buy an iPhone?
1 SlowFatHusky 2018-09-23
Because I want a phone that fits in a man's hand.
