I don't mind them wanting to make money, but doing it through endless DLC just makes the games suck. I don't want to pay for some new system that's being added on just for the sake of having something to add.

Take a look at the Dominions series. Those guys iterate on the same basic game and come out with a sequel every few years. They've squeezed more money out of me than Paradox but without compromising the quality of their games.

Every new DLC they need to add new features, the game is getting incredibly bloated because of this.

I've got about 750 hours in this game,,the ancestral update made family trees a feature. I've been playing for like another 80 hours on the divide et impera mod as Rome and I haven't had one faction leader as a female. I've seen some factions with a female faction leader (Ethiopia,Scythia, and some Dacians) but given their historical scope I didn't think it was something to REEE about.

This game one time ran in the background after I closed it on my PC for several days and I didn't notice until I opened task manager. It even counted the playtime on Steam.

Also, either the Rome or Shogun one caused some bad coil whine in either the PSU or GPU and no other game I ever played did that.

R/totalwar has been in a dramatic state of civil war for months now, it’s been funny to watch. It’s been funny to see groups demanding more DLC while another group complaining about the amount of DLC, and a third group demanding (legitimately) for them to patch issues more regularly, going so far as to have a daily post demanding patches winding up people who aren’t having as big issues.

The issue is that they tied literally all bug fixing to dlc hence why everyone wants it.

It's also the fact that the game is incomplete, which is why so many dlcs are required to begin with.
