There's literally no other living judge who's as "far right" as he is (in the way that he is; there are stereotypical Republican ones who love cops and war and living babies, of course). The few who are like Thomas aren't on Trump's radar, because Trump's not ideological.

So two Trump picks in place of Thomas and RBG would shift the court slightly "left" (away from paleo/libertarian arguments) in sum. Typical "competent" Republican judges (e.g., Kavanaugh) are more like Ginsburg than like Thomas. No matter how many picks Trump gets, almost nothing changes, except right-wingers lose the only non-elected government official they actually like.

Well, you see, he wrote about how his experience with the Clinton trial led him to believe that Congress should pass a law immunizing the president from prosecution until he's out of office, since impeachment serves the purpose until then.

This of course means that him being only one of nine Supreme Court justices is Trump's key to pardoning himself and everyone else for signing a blood-pact with Putin over the body of a Russian piss-hooker, because everyone knows that Supreme Court cases only need one justice to decide.

Roberts was the "Centrist" vote. Kavanaugh will unbalance the court, which is bad, but we won't get right wing gang rape squads out of this.
