However, I would argue that being objective isn’t the main goal of nearly any argument (barring discourse with facts, not opinions). Your last point is one that I actually disagree with and think that your view is objectively wrong. To base it in biology, symbiotic relationships came as a byproduct of evolution. Now that I’m typing this, I understand that I am wrong and that those symbiotic relationships happened solely because of harsh environment. Disregard the hive mind, you have me intrigued. However, in order to continue, I think you should specify what you mean by ‘change.’ I can change my shirt without violence. We can change some (not all) laws without violence. • Of course there can be such a thing as objective truth, that is a philosophically sound position. But you can also have an opinion on what that truth is, no? If we don’t know what the truth is then people can disagree on it until it’s substantially proven.

• Sure - “conflict” of ideas in school is really important and something which should be improved. Debate and critical thinking forces people to empathise, think for themselves and challenge their own assumptions. Kids aren’t taught this enough because education is a results game and schools want kids to pass exams more than they want them to become well rounded people who can think for themselves.

• BUT we also need to live in a civilised society where people aren’t constantly afraid of “unreasonable violence”. People want security for themselves and their families, you can’t change that. We need rules or everything falls apart.

• Your 5:3 ratio is a nice idea but it sounds practically implausible. It would involve forcing and coercing people into giving up their other jobs to be teachers and our society would completely shut down. How would you get all the staff?

I am talking in good faith in as much as I am seeking an open, fair and unbiased discussion. I am not lying, we are perhaps just not yet aligned in what is being discussed.
