The even stranger thing is how that account had better English and different interests about software and 3d model use until going inactive 1.5 years ago.
Then it gets worse grammar and constantly posts about how Japan, the US, Australia, and the UK are evil.
It's so weird, "Analysts" have been incorrectly predicting the Chinese collapse for nearly two decades now.
I thought people would learn yet we had dramanauts unironically doing the exact same thing in the previous thread. It may or may not happen but redditors of all people shouldn't be predicting shit based on their level of knowledge.
and even more that say that it's unlikely to happen.
China has large systematic issues, and these are rightfully pointed out. But all credible/competent reports I've seen only speak of them as challenges for the chinese leadership, never as certain doom.

I mean I am not denying that but how does this make my argument a strawman? because I didn't say each and every analyst is predicting doom and gloom.

Don't take your analysis from Foxnews, yo.
Kind of what I am saying as well just that instead of fox news, I am asking redditors not to make their predictions of doom with their limited knowledge.
This. I'd be very worried about China's economic future right now. A huge part of their high economic growth has come from of ripple effects of their one child policy. Just look at a population pyramid of China compared to South Korea during a similar time in economic development. An unusually large amount of China's population is at working age with not a lot of people to replace them once they start aging out of the workforce and/or die. China has an artificially strong economy because of an artificially high percentage of working age adults.
Lol, their GDP is still dirt low, they just have a lot more people. There plenty of good reason to dislike the prospect of a ricpocalypae though, the chinese government is a fucking horror show. It's like they take dystopian novels as idea guides.
Their overall GDP isn't. I think people don't understand China doesn't need to be prosperous on the percapita basis to be a major threat.
Their defence budget right now is at $175 billion for example even though their GDP per capita nominal is only at around $8000.So even if china stagnates at say $25K per capita they'll be a much bigger problem and I think unlike many clueless redditor American policy makers understand that and finally decided to put more effort into containing them.
China's main problem is that everyone hates them, and they deserve it. Their neighbors hate them, except for Pakistan but Pakistan is better to have as an enemy, the Africans hate them, the American people hate them, etc.
The issue is that the Chinese government is fucking scary. I have no care in the world if China suddenly becomes the main world power, only if they you know, have a government that isn't a complete horror show
I like how the points he makes literally don't adress the orginial claims. Of course China is an economic powerhouse, but neither does it make the country popular abroad, nor does it per se turn china into a superpower.
For now, and the near future, China is neither interested nor capable of becoming a global leader truly rivalling the US. They're more than happy with letting the US foot the bill for freedom of navigation etc.
What they are interested in, and pursuing, is becoming a true regional power. Means pushing the US out of the east-asian security architecture, and taking the spot as the predominant pop-culture creator. Only being the main economic power makes you important, but it has very narrow limits, especially when that power is predicated on others securing your trade lanes (the US navy, in chinas case). For a country to be a true power (global or regional) it has to stemm these obligations itself, or it's always dependent on a foreign power. That's why they militarize the SCS.
Orientalists in the 1800’s thought China would be one of the three great superpowers by the end of the century, along with Russia and the USA. Instead, Jesus’ brother came and the Chinese killed/ate 30 million of themselves, followed by the nation that invented anime beating them in a war for like 50 years. Its been like 70 years since the last great chinese civil war, it’s due any time now.

"Analysts" have also thrown around this strawman for nearly two decades now.
1 KaraBogan 2018-10-19
What strawman? You do realize that there have plenty of reports that did incorrectly predict the Chinese collapse.

You could say the same for the US.

And those people are even bigger retards.

It’s almost like everyone’s ignored the real chinese collapse that’s coming in 10-15 years when their massive demographic problems catch up.

Do the Chinese have any redeeming traits whatsoever?

Actually yes, they are really good at killing other Chinese.

But Chinese movies fucking suck! And the other East Asian nations hate them.

chinamen are trying, doesn't mean they're succeeding (or good at it).
