I spent a year in the warehouse and counter. Then a year and half in corporate doing inventory management training order a uber baptist that was ready to retire. Also just from the south, white and got a lot Catholic &baptidf family and a handful of gay cousins. So i have seen the reactions

The baptist people can be more cruel with complete disapproval. Some parts of my family will avoid my gay cousin, like even though they are close in blood and i have a small family they had to sit at separate tables at my rehearsal dinner.
Catholics like it for the drama and gossip. My wife’s cousin came out last year. They acted surprised (they couldn’t have been) just so they could gossip about it.

I think the one group that remains majority against gay marriage is white evangelicals... even Muslims are majority pro gay marriage. Among conservatards though? I'm not sure. The non-evangelicals might swing overall opinion towards gay marriage.
