"Internalized misogynist" and "prude" are the new slurs for women with standards and boundaries. Don't let newspeak fool you. ;)

If you're not fulfilling your partners needs, she's going to use something, or someone, to meet those needs.

You're 50% responsible for current the state of your marriage.

Good thing she didn't cheat, she only lied for like 10 years straight. Not that I trust a 1 year old account with no activity until this post but still.

Instead of pin the tail on the donkey, the reddit community loves to play pin the blame on the man. Damn near all the mainstream subs have an anti-male bias.

Posts in /r/foreveralone

Incel lol

I've never posted there, I've commented there a good long while ago. What of it?

Incel lol

this

you do realise it was on search by controversial right? all the most upvoted posts if you search by "best" are just talking about how the bitch is crazy or giving the guy financial advice.

Wonder if this user uses the same reasoning for cheating. Wait I should have been more specific. I wonder if this user uses the same logic when a man cheats on a woman.

It's hilarious that both the OP and the posters actually think that debt was accumulated over 10 years.

Imagine the 1-2 knockout when he finds out what the actual amount is

He started at 103k and now we’re up to 112k so it can only get better from here

And they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming

Another reason why women need to be ripped of their rights

Over 10 years that’s not a great deal of money to spend. The question is why did she not have enough to meet monthly repayments and why could she not discuss this with her husband.

As for making her confess to her parents. He’s treating his wife like a child and she complied. That gives an insight into the dynamics of the marriage. Parent and child.

The question is why did she not have enough to meet monthly repayments

Because she's unemployed

why could she not discuss this with her husband.

Because she's unemployed

Being unemployed doesn’t stop you talking. Did the husband not know his wife was unemployed? Did she hide six years unemployment also?

Obviously she did how else could it have happened?

She managed to hide 6 years unemployment. What a woman. She needs to apply for an undercover position with an agency.

Uh sweaty are you suggesting he JUDGE his wife? Or even worse question her ?!?!!! MY WORD!! If she says I am off today and the next 2193 days, Im going to believe her. Literally shaking that this is even needs to be said!!

Didn't comments like these get old like 5 years ago when TiA was still relevant? Now it just makes it sound like you're trying to imitate negaredditors imitating right-wing reddit but on the opposite side

why could she not discuss this with her husband.
Because she's unemployed

What? I think that most 'SAHMs/homemakers' are lazy parasites after their children enter school under most circumstances and that men who desire that lifestyle are delusional, but her lack of a job has nothing to do with the fact that she didn't tell her husband, if this is all true. It sounds like she's a shopping addict, which doesn't exclusively strike unemployed people. If this is real, which it probably isn't, OP knew that his wife was a shopping addict for years, which puts this on him to an extreme degree. If you're sharing your money with somebody then it's a good idea to check where the money is going regularly. If you're sharing your money with somebody who you know is addicted to spending money then you need to check up on your account on a daily or weekly basis and otherwise try your best to make sure that they're not buying shit behind your back.

Actually,

Since retiring, I’m more involved with the budget and found these unexplained charges in our bank account.

Are you kidding me? There's literally no way that this is real unless OP is the biggest dumbass in the universe. A 160k/yr salary with a kid isn't remotely enough for somebody not to notice that there are huge amounts of money missing from your bank account. If this wasn't written by a poor who wanted to generate outrage bait for this sub then OP is the dumbest man alive.

Dude, I am not reading that.

But muh age / 2 add 7 rule for relationships!!!

As for making her confess to her parents. He’s treating his wife like a child and she complied. That gives an insight into the dynamics of the marriage. Parent and child.

Running up a 100 K credit debt is acting like a child. Act like an adult, people treat you like an adult

How fuckin poor are you? 100k over multiple years is a drop in the ocean. The debt will be in her name, she’s responsible for it and the only thing joint is the house which I assume she owns 50%. You don’t like another individuals debt, divorce. Really easy.

He's been supporting his wife and child with his 160k income alone, the last six years. His child just started the first year of college.

If he divorces her now, he's getting fucked with the big black strapon of alimony until he dies, with some complimentary AtM child support for 3 years. Which she'll spend on more gucci shoes. Thanks for playing.

Probably the case in the divorce that all things will be split 50/50. Don’t think she’s bought Gucci shoes tbh spending 30 quid or so a day.

I’d be totally embarrassed to do a Reddit post saying my partner ran up credit to buy herself and my kid stuff over multiple years as a house person whilst my income was £160k and I knew my partner was unemployed. Yeah, I think the wife will be better off financially and maybe emotionally with a divorce.

Probably the case in the divorce that all things will be split 50/50.

So you don't know how Alimony works?

Yes, she gets half his shit.

She also is entitled to his income going forward in life, because she "sacrificed" 6 years of her "earning potential" by sitting around watching netflix while the laundry dried.

Don’t think she’s bought Gucci shoes tbh spending 30 quid or so a day.

$850 a month is a new pair of gucci shoes every month.

I’d be totally embarrassed to do a Reddit post saying my partner ran up credit to buy ... my kid stuff

You seem confused. The 160k a year that he was bringing home is what you buy the kid stuff with. The 100k in debt is gucci shoes.

I'd blame myself if my wife was so bad with money that she spent $170,000 a year despite only having $160,000

menslib mods OUT

So, she’ll be better off then. $850 for a pair of guilty shoes a month. Bargain, I’ll take two pairs thanks and a bottle of your finest bubbly to go.

Nah he'll probably just put her back to work and kick her in the emotional ovaries for three years for being such an incompetent twat, until she realizes he stopped liking her a long time ago and divorces him when the kid's over 21.

Win win.

Seriously man, pull yourself together. This isn’t your life story. Triggers and emotional flashbacks are just awful to deal with. Consider counselling.

Remember she’s crying and he’s posting on Reddit for advice.

huh? what are you on the rag about now?

Remember she’s crying

yeah shit happens when you blow $100k of someone else's money

It wasn’t his money she blew or yours. Fuckin lol

wasn't his money

thinking watching netflix pays the bills

the absolute state of foids

What a strange response from you. Why do you think watching Netflix pays your bills?

😴

Lmao. What a sperg.

She also is entitled to his income going forward in life, because she "sacrificed" 6 years of her "earning potential" by sitting around watching netflix while the laundry dried.

Men who allow women to stay at home when kids are in school deserve all of the pain that comes from making that decision. If you want to have a '''''traditional'''''''' relationship then you get what you asked for. If somebody just decides to let their spouse make that choice against their wishes then they're a helpless little bitch, and anybody who advocates for it who doesn't have special circumstances that require extra work, e.g. a special needs child, is a fucking idiot who doesn't understand what a 'traditional' relationship actually is. Any man who is okay with their spouse who earns 60-100k+ wife quitting their job to 'housekeep' deserves everything that they're asking for. As does every man who believes that their spouse should be a longtime 'housekeeper'.

$850 a month is a new pair of gucci shoes every month.

The spending in this post is extremely unrealistic, but if a working spouse, especially after knowing that their spouse was a spending addict, were not to notice their non-working spouse buy a mountain of brand clothing and not check up on their meager bank account then they would truly and honestly deserve to be in this situation.

menslib mods OUT

If you have a dependent who runs up your credit card then it's all on you. However, I'm sure that this is something that you don't understand given that you don't seem to think that it's strange that a breadwinner with kids who makes low six figs wouldn't notice that large withdrawals are being made to their account, the fact that OP might 'withdraw from his son's bank account', which doen't make any sense given how easy a 100k debt would be easy to pay off with incremental payments, that a nurse would quit their job and OP wouldn't care given that it's quite lucrative, etc.

You got played because you're unsure that a woman will ever love you and use stories like these to convince yourself that it's not worth it anyway. Even if this were real then it would have the same outcome for you.

nobody's saying this guy ain't retarded

dunno, given that the title was pointing to the controversial submissions being the highlight opinions it seems as such. Though it is stupid all around and every alleged adult in this situation is an idiot

None of this matters because it's fake but:

100k over multiple years is a drop in the ocean.

If you're making low six figs and have a kid to take care of then it's not, though the fact that it's a teen with an apparently well-funded education account makes the post extremely suspicious to begin with

The debt will be in her name

Debt is shared when you're married

You don’t like another individuals debt, divorce.

You still share the debt that was incurred while married to somebody. Though if OP's imaginary wife was a shopping addict when the imaginary kid was born then he deserved all that was coming if he didn't divorce her then.

I assume rightly or wrongly middle class people over the age of 50 have fairly decent salaries as they’ve progressed in their career. With it their lifestyle changes as the years go by to reflect this. The guy said he earned $160k and the fake wife worked previously. The 25 to 30 quid a day is a drop in the ocean to me.

Debt isn’t shared here even when you’re married, you can only be held responsible to pay in full for joint debt you applied for. So that sucks for married people in the US. Given that you’re held responsible for someone else’s debt in marriage, the guy is a numpty for not knowing or keeping tabs on finances. And now I feel sorry for a fake guy.

160k is well above the national household average in the US. Where do you live that that's 'a drop in the Ocean'? You can even live off of that in Hk and Singapore, albeit in a shitty apartment.

Once I'm less trashed I can address some of these open ends in full

Ok enjoy getting trashed.

Once you're less trashed you're going to regret writing all these long seriousposts and cringe with embarrassment at how much of a faggot you seem

This whole comment thread has been you humblebragging about how much money you make. If you spend 10k a year on fucking clothes you are an idiot, no matter how you look at it. Especially if you're unemployed with a retired/retiring husband. Consider giving 30% of that drop in the ocean to me to support my drug habit, kthx.

Really? Where in thread do I discuss my own lifestyle or earnings?

The 25 to 30 quid a day is a drop in the ocean to me.

How fuckin poor are you? 100k over multiple years is a drop in the ocean.

Do words not mean what they mean or do you have a 3 minute memory?

All I can say is cost of living must be really cheap where you are. Going for lunch with a friend can be £20 a head easy. Go to the cinema, family of four tickets and popcorn £100. Meal for two in a half decent restaurant with a bottle of wine another £100 include taxi fare add on another £40. Teenage boy needing new footwear, adult sizing over a £100. You want to buy 4 corn fed organic chicken breasts £20. Hardly extravagant. A cheap mascara from the supermarket costs £15 ffs. So £25 to £30 is a drop in the ocean to me because it really wouldn’t get me very far.

Anywhere but London lmao

If I want 4 chickens they aren't going to be corn fed organic fancy pants bullshit. Probably around a tenner if they aren't too big. I go out of my way to get class A eggs because the thought of the chickens getting booted by minimum wage teenagers is worth them being cheaper, and it's kind of funny tbh I hate chickens.

If my teenage son asked me to buy him £100 shoes I'd laugh at him and call him a faggot

not sneaking sweets in to the cinemas

Anyway the moral of the story is London fucking sucks and this guy should force his wife in to prostitution

Lol. I’m not in London. The cost of living is through the roof for most people in the UK. You buy the expensive eggs because they’re higher in omega 3 and the chickens had a better life. Guilt free eating.

The corn fed chicken breasts with skin on, I need them to make Jamie Oliver’s mustard chicken and it takes well over an hour because he’s a lying shit about 30 min meals!

Peace out ✌🏻 This thread is driving me to drink.

Chickens deserve to suffer. Look at this evil cunt in the eye and tell me it deserves a better life

Those prices are ridiculous, you have to be a southerner. Even manchester isn't that bad.

You ain’t getting over this thread. Best I can over is a square go in George Square.

Debt is shared when you're married

I work in credit card collections. We don't care who is married to who, just the name on the credit card. It's possible for people to open up a credit card and not put their spouse on the credit card.

If they get divorced and feel they should both be responsible but only one name is on the credit card.. It's up to the judge who has to pay if the person on the credit card doesn't want to pay (and they never do.. I always get calls from people who think divorce means we're going to collect from their spouse who isn't even on the credit card)

how young are you? You obviously have no concept of income. The husband in the post is in the top 5% of all earners in the US if he earns 160k a year. He only gets half of that as take home though because taxes and maxing out whatever retirement shit he has.

Of that 80k, 50-60 goes to his sons college. Not currently, but in the past as part of his sons college fund, so thats savings that you think he has that he obviously doesnt. His house cost $, so thats more savings you think he has that he doesnt. His wife, using his money, managed to get 100k in credit card debt.

No way he's paying anywhere close to 50% taxes. He's married with an unemployed spouse and a kid. Assuming he's been putting 10% into his 401k, his effective federal income tax is only around 10% according to the IRS witholding calculator. Single childless person would be 18%. Maybe bump it up 1-3% due to the recent tax breaks.

But that's just going with the standard deduction. Dude probably owns a house that's too big and has probably been deducting bucket loads of state and property taxes all these years so I wouldn't even be slightly surprised if it was less than 10%. All in total he's probably paying around 20% in income taxes including social security and medicaid which were capped at $118k further reducing his effective tax rate by liek 2%. Guarantee you he's been taking home over 110k per year with a 2-3k/month mortage (including taxes). That's your 80k but with housing paid for. How you blow 80k per year like that is beyond me.

Grandma has a daddy kink.

Spending 10k a year on clothes isn't a great deal of money lmao nigga u dum

Did it say 10k a year on clothes? People financially better off spend more than that per year on personal items, socialising and generally having a better life. If you get a decent education and work hard enough, one day you may be able to afford a fairly decent lifestyle.

It kind of matters what it was spent on though. Nobody would think his wife was a retard if she spent it on something less retarded, and didn't get in debt for something so pointless

I [M61] just found out my wife [F51] ... I made her call her parents

Imagine some 70 to 80 year old senile folks living in Florida answering their phone to their 51 year old daughter and listening her cry just to say "Who's this?" and "Where am I?".

As a baby boomer I wanna die in comfort not surronded by family members and drain all of my 40+ years of working/saving to put it in some insurance or nursary homes fat cats pocket

Oh god i sound like watermark now

Pretending you would have a choice.

🤢 Boomer 🤢

After the omnicide it won't matter.

Yellowstone eruption when???

Someday.

Savings? Jokes on you, smart people spend it as fast as it's coming in.

What the fuck are you going to do with your money as a 70 year old working with borderline alzheimers and a body that struggles to lift a gallon of milk? Screw that noise. I hit up Vegas once a year, I go snowboarding, I hit a bar now and then, and I say retirement is for people who don't have the energy to spend the money they've accrued.

Lol you sound like a “life coach”

I know what I'm about.

Yeah lets get a few and meet up and pound each others bussies

I'm not interested in catching your cancer. I'm a man of refinement.

I only date hookers.

We live in the future. If youre rich enough you inject young peoples blood, and take hgh/trt. Look at Schwarzeneggar, and Stallone.

So they have to spend their money as it's coming in?

Weird.

Who would do such a thing?

Believe it or not, it's possible to enjoy oneself while also saving. It's called personal finance. Smart people definitely do not spend their money as fast as it's coming in. You speak of 70 as if it's the next phase. You still have a loooong way to go, and at this rate, you're not going to fare well once you're into your 30s.

Wow. You've convinced me. I'm cashing out my 401k on Monday and going down to Mexico to hop of the Donkey show circuit. /r/whatcouldgowrong

Speding time in bars

Wtf is wrong with you?

I look forward to spending my Golden Years asking purple-haired gender fluid 17 year-olds for financial advice on le raddit

Instead you seem to be intent on spending your time chastising redditors like an old fuck.

"Get off my reddit!" You're so enlightened.

lol

comes to /r/Drama

rages at user for mocking Redditors

comes to /r/Drama

Mocks redditor for mocking a redditor while mocking a redditor

Thanks for that dose of stupidity.

its not stupidity. it is pure enlightenment

I met an enlightened Shaolin Monk once. He didn't browse r/Drama.

> I met an enlightened Shaolin Monk once.

No you didn't.

But did he show you bussy?

Well, if you do decide to seek help on reddit in the first place then don't take the advice that pops up when you sort by 'controversial'.

When I reach that age, I like to think that I'll be able to come up with bad ideas all on my own.

Every relationship sub on reddit is 50% white knighting literal cuckolds, 50% man-hating feminist single mothers with kids from 5 different fathers.

I would say 90% cuck tbh

The most highly-upvoted comments had balanced responses; OP just sorted by controversial to provide everybody with circlebroke-tier outrage bait

He said she was an RN (one of the hardest jobs out there.) up until 6 years ago

The absolute state of mayo women. She retires in her 40s, leeches off her husband, LIES about it, and these cucks still say "wimmins is hard-working heroes!!1!"

Her fuckin husband toiled into his 60s and was lied to and stolen from.

Delicious drama.

👌👌👌

Its r/relationships_advice. Par for the course tbh

RN's are almost exclusively obese middle aged women with superiority complexes and miserable husbands, perpetually one bad week away from a crippling benzo addiction.

That's not fair! Some of them are already well into the crippling benzo addiction.

Kendra Lust was an RN, you know.

middle aged women with superiority complexes and miserable husbands, perpetually one bad week away from a crippling benzo addiction.

Still fits

That part, sure. The only thing fat on that bitch is the ass, though.

RN ?

Registered Nurse

I made her call her parents and tell them what’s she had done.

What a fucking dbag. This was clearly a very healthy relationship. Wonder why she had secrets.

I don't want to side with the people telling him that it's not a big deal and that he hasn't been wronged, but that is a really fucking weird thing to do when you and your wife are both 50+

The post is likely fake given the details, e.g. someone letting their shopping addict spouse drain the bank account over time without the working spouse noticing, somebody making low six figs and being unable to see that large amounts of money have been drained. And the linked comments are sorted by controversial, which leads me to believe that OP or someone else was just fishing for outrage bait. The OP and most of the posts ITT sound like they were written by people who don't have much experience with long-term relationships/marriage and career life. Or they do and they were just trying to create anger from the people who don't. It is a mystery

She used credit to buy herself stuff and the kid but mostly spent on her. Making a 51 year old tell mummy and daddy what she’s done. The husband is a prick. Zero sympathy from me.

roastie detected

Aw, typical response. When all else fails, try any insult.

Laughing @ u

A literal child on reddit

What a surprise

Thanks

rack of 100k of secret debt No problem mum!

mummy has to tell grandma Ew disgusting behavior beyond the pale.

U dum

No U

I hope that anyone that seeks or takes relationship advice from the internet, lives an horrible life for the rest of their lives.

That’s a given if they asked in the first place.

That merely means that their life is horrible at that precise moment, but I wish for it to never get better

When people are desperate or needing validation to be “right” they turn to random strangers of any age on the internet.

And to think that /r/relationship_advice is less insane than /r/relationships... 😐😐😐

This. My current partner was left in debt after the divorce that his ex racked up with online spending. He's still paying it off now.

Gussy, not even once.

woman actually being held accountable for her actions.

r/Relationship_Advice: REEEEEEEEEEE

I just love reddit. If a man did this they would be all over the dude telling the wife to run and clean him out.

White people on reddit are a fucking circus.

There are other types of people on reddit?

Shh don't ruin the cosplay.

Did you not notice that the thread was sorted by controversial?

took me a while to notice that

Wife gets a RN job, debt is paid off in 3 to 6 years.

She now 57 and debt free,

If she has been a good wife all through the years, I'll let this go. By good wife I mean if she doesn't nag you, disrespect you and has been loyal throughout.

we live in a society

Is "weird" the new "gross"?

How long until they're literally using baby-talk like "yucky"?

I may be the minority here but I cannot imagine divorce with someone I love over ($112,000 of) credit card debt.

I would probably need to be restrained from trying to kill her

lmao

I live for this shit

Not a suprise....just saying.

How many fucking clothes do you buy for 6 figures?
