I’m always amazed how few people know about Gamergate. It’s not only the key to understanding so many violent harassment campaigns going on today, it’s lots of the same people angry about the same stuff using the same playbook.
Keeping multiple branches of the same piece of software going can be a difficult task. That's why reddit is eventually going to force the redesign down our throats, too many egoes would be bruised if they shelved it and they're not going to support two different interfaces forever.

This is also true.
I don't play the game, but it seems like the Chinese players are able to interface with the rest of the globe. In this case having two separate branches is going to cause a lot of trouble in the future.
their code is actually spaghetti. horrible. i wish i had links on hand for all the posts over the years from them in a round a bout way saying they cant fix a simple issue because its coded poorly. oh and btw its a fps shooter being played on assassin's creed's (unity's i think) engine.
Is censoring certain parts of the game just to appeal to a portion of the playerbase bad? Absolutely.
Do i even remotely give a damn about a bunch of random pictures on random walls being changed? Absolutely not.
While censorship is bad, i cant help but feel that all this is blown out of proportion. I literally didnt even realize the things they changed existed before all this.

I dislike the redesign, but Reddit has supported the old /.compact design for yearsafter the mobile design was created.

why dont gamers instead of channeling their autistic rage into downvoting the messenger into sending a very angry email to ubisoft
at least the second might do something
