Trump is on record attacking Sessions for recusing himself and even said he wouldn't have hired Sessions if he had know he'd recuse.
Sessions did nothing wrong by recusing, he was being ethical.
Trump asked him to resign so Trump could appoint an acting AG, bypassing the Senate.
The acting AG Trump selected has been writing op-eds for a year about how the investigation is fake, and even suggested a "legal way" to stop the probe was to appoint a new AG that could reduce funding to the probe, effectively stopping it.
Trump waited until directly after the midterms because he and the GOP knew what the optics would look like.

They've found several of Trump's aides to have committed federal and state crimes. The reason we don't hear anything is because the investigation doesn't give press releases or leaks to avoid dramatic bullshit.
Apparently Trump Jr is going to be in hot water very, very soon- the investigation will probably have run its course before 2020 unless Trump has it shut down to try to protect himself and his family, which'll land him in shit with the House.
If Trump is innocent, his best option would be to let the investigation run, and if Mueller finds nothing he'll be fine. If Trump is innocent, he's acting like a guilty man.
