The state and local taxes don't go to flyover states, though, not to mention that before the GOP tax plan most middle-class and up Californians were deducting their high state and local taxes from their federal taxable income.

CA has one of the highest standards of living in the states and subsidizes the fentanyl states heavily. Additionally, the state taxes p a l e in comparison to what the feds take out of your paycheck, and you don't even see any shit back from the feds if you live in CA.
