4chan used to be the bad egg in the basket for a long time, but now that reddit has such a myriad of diverse subs, not to mention that they're mostly dead serious in their endeavours the worse it gets, I believe reddit's small corners of undesireables have finally accumulated enough infested dust to push 4chan's eccentrics off of the top shelf.
These people don't understand the concept of waifu. You are not meant to cross the dimensional boundary and interact with your waifu. A waifu is an ideal - something one yearns for despite being unable to fully attain it. I love my waifu and I would never make a mockery of her by pretending to marry a 3D caricature of her.
At least they know on some level that it's all pretend. It's worse when after 10 years with someone it turns out the whole thing was pretend and your idea of them was just an illusion, but you thought it was real.
I always wonder about these women who find out their husbands have a whole second life with someone. I can't remember the name of the guy whose wife disappeared and winds up he killed her. Then the other girlfriend was all "I had no idea." You must have some inclination something is going on. I think the girl's name was Stacey?
I always think that they are in serious denial and did actually see the signs.
Because they're in a certain mode the entire time you know them and you never get to see the other mode until a certain flip is switched. Plus, feelings are inherently romanticized bullshit. How much of what you feel about a person is based on who they actually are and how much are you adding? If you met your mom as a stranger, would you actually like her or see any good in her or would you think she's just some crazy old lady? Of course, you only have one mom and she can't ever not be your mom, so there's no danger of ever having to see her in any other way.
I'm not saying I didn't know my ex. I knew her extremely well, in a certain sense.
She apparently "fell in love" with Ubercorn at the age of 17, when the show first aired. What was a 17 year old doing watching a preschool cartoon anyways?
I'm 16 years older than my youngest sister. I've watched plenty of kids cartoons with her while baby sitting including my little pony. From what I recall it's not a bad show or anything. But that doesn't mean I want to fuck a make believe pony.
Hello! To answer your question, I just watch shows for kids and occasionally preschoolers in my own time. ^^ I don't think there is a law or valid reason saying I can't do that. I just find adult shows terribly boring, or full of violence and sex and other stuff I do not care about. Besides, there are lots of people who like LazyTown which is technically a preschool show, and I'm sure many people play games that are primarily directed at a younger crowd (e.g. Mario and Pokemon). The show my husband is from is very good, entertaining, and funny, and in my opinion there is nothing inherently wrong with people enjoying media that's intended for a younger demographic. ^^
Interesting how theres women doing this too, yet they also have multiple "3D partners".. while the men doing it are likely permavirgins. Women are allowed (expected?) to be mentally ill and still have normal lives, men aren't.
Most of the men who do this sort of thing wouldn't be permavirgins if their standards were lower and they weren't trapped in fantasy land, same as the women. The women may be able to get laid more easily but they'd have to lower their standards to find a real partner. Their situations aren't all that different. The root cause of 'waifuism' is also not necessarily lack of romantic success, though that can be a huge factor of course. Usually it's something like maladaptive daydreaming or fantasy-prone personality (sometimes associated with mental health conditions) that lead people to these places. Often this is the same force that leads them to neglect their hygeine and romantic life.
As far as:
Women are allowed (expected?) to be mentally ill and still have normal lives, men aren't.
Goes, it depends on the mental illness and the way that it is expressed. Many of the well-known symptoms of certain mental illness are more frequently found in women, whereas symptoms that occur more frequently in men may not be perceived as mental illness by a layman, e.g. aloofness in depression or PTSD. Plus the 'women are expected to have mental illness and lead normal lives' thing only really applies to depression and anxiety disorders.
Most of the men who do this sort of thing wouldn't be permavirgins if their standards were lower and they weren't trapped in fantasy land, same as the women.
Have you met these men? Even the least desirable women at the very least don't want to be murdered.

At least people on 4chan were not being nice to each other. This kind of open, accepting camraderie is just grotesque in this context

Reddit’s who design is catered to this kind of stuff. On 4chan people get called out for being freaks.
