But in the early 2000s they changed the laws, since then 14+ is legal with no age difference restrictions. However, there are special rules for what counts as exploitation/abuse at 14 and 15. And, just like everywhere on earth, prostitution and porn is only allowed at 18+.

TBF, bitcoin would be a lot more useful if people did focus on using it rather than owning it.

Stablecoins are probably going to replace bitcoin in that regard, they're designed so that the value doesn't fluctuate. Makes actual transactions much less cumbersome. Which honestly does not bode well for bitcoin at all... once people move to stablecoins for actual transactions, bitcoin will have pretty much zero real worth and will implode in value.

As for Stablecoins though, it still has the same problem as most other cryptocurrencies. Not a lot to do with it but buy drugs. Plus regular banks and financial institutions don't want to touch it, most credit card now for instance are set to automatically decline crypto transactions due to its widespread use in fraud (I.e. people stealing cc numbers and then maxing it out with crypto purchases to hide the trail). So if you even want to buy crypto, you have to call up your bank and manually approve the purchase.

I think the use case for it will only really become apparent if governments start getting too restrictive in terms of controlling how people spend their money, or if the international financial order breaks down (for example some future Trump bans people from using Aliexpress due to rampant tax evasion/tradewars). Even if it just exists as a back channel that works for me.

The government is already kind of restrictive in how they allow money to be spent. Banks are extremely conservative as well and just don't want to be associated with anything shady. But if the government really wants to go down this route, like the first thing they're going to start doing is restricting access to crypto. Which, again, is pretty easy. Just relate financial institutions into refusing to purchase them. Then basically the only way to buy them would be to, like, mail money orders to foreigners. Which are not even secured documents, so basically your relying on trust.
