Be interesting. Have hobbies and passions. Find what you love to do outside of work and become an expert at it. Preferably a somewhat useful hobby, or one that is visually appealing. Be good. Genuinely care for other people. Not desperation, not needy, but be concerned for your fellow people and look out for them. If you are some sort of nihilist who cares nothing for others, the fact that you are a tiny shortcel shouldn't give you any grief anyway.
