I would have illegally evicted the squatter and just left it on her to come up with $$$ for a lawyer. Seems daring a broke squatter to come up with $$$ for a lawyer is better than a domestic violence arrest. They keep saying he'd be in a worse place if he wouldn't let her in, but that doesn't make sense. Some chick like that has no money to sue him.
