I’m always amazed how few people know about Gamergate. It’s not only the key to understanding so many violent harassment campaigns going on today, it’s lots of the same people angry about the same stuff using the same playbook.
The interesting part about this video is the teacher.
"In fact it is targeted against you." and explicitly stating why he's letting other kids wear their "RESIST" hats and that he's applying the "no hat" selectively.
MAGAcel complains "you're discriminating against me for my political views." Galaxy brain teacher replies "No, I'm targeting your hat!"
You can tell towards the end teacher realizes he's on thin ice with the whole thing, he just keeps talking non-sequiturs to avoid a gap where MAGAcel can insert. He also doesn't send MAGAcel to the principal, he doesn't kick him out. Instead he asks the whole class to leave, so they can be safe together.
Cringe but he did a better job than 90% of people who I've seen stand up to a teacher. Teacher was made a fool of and the only result will be all hats being banned. Still a win though.
