I did a research paper this summer on this subreddit and there was a published study that found that 74% of attacks on Reddit came from 1% of source subreddits. I assume that subs like r/Drama are the 1%.
Can you imagine being so depressed with the current state of gaming that you invest millions of dollars into .jpegs?
I honestly gave up on giving a fuck about modern games. Just jew me with some shitty mobile game, let me pirate or gamefly whatever hot game is out before it cools off and everyone realizes it's a pile of shit.
With how aggressively CIG is monetizing its users before even having released a game, they should switch to selling new ships inside loot boxes already.
The fact that Chris Roberts' corporate findom operation is still siphoning millions from its gamer paypigs is why I hope the gaming community never gets their bitching about microtransactions and lootboxes taken seriously.
When this game came out, I was pretty excited, I liked the idea of a FPS Eve. I never played Eve, because RTS aren't my thing, I bought an AMD package off of someone and it came with a ship and a year of insurance.
Then as a few months passed, I noticed the only updates to the games were new ships. Now, the base ships, Like the aurora, were already kind of pricey, if i remember correctly, somewhere between 25-50 dollars, and that didn't include upgrades. But with that, you got the actual game and stuff so whatever. But these ships they were putting out cost upwards of hundreds of dollars, and you couldn't even fly them. Hell, I couldn't even fly my ship for several months because it wasn't actually in the game yet.
They just kept putting out new ships after new ships with no real substance. I kind of had a feeling it was turning into a cash grab at that point and more people were starting to feel that way on the SC sub
Finally they added in some (one) place you could walk around (that was it, just walk around) and it felt and looked like a korean f2p game. I uninstalled shortly after that.
In game if your ship blows up you gotta pay to replace it but ship insurance will reimburse you, in game funds, for another. Stupid or not it comes on every ship people are buying for real money. Take that as you will

thats the good thing about video games, indie can beat out triple A shit unlike movies where whatever gets the most ad's wins.

Hold up, I just reread your post and it said
Does that mean the ship has insurance??

This wouldn't be necessary if there was Universal Ship Care
1 RyeWhiskeyy 2018-12-02
The funny part is, if you let the insurance lapse and some sweaty pvp pirate blows you up, you're out all of that money.

It's been over for a long time. Such a hopelessly ambitious project in the first place. It never even began for SCcels.

I propose the name Star Citicels
1 Karmaisforsuckers 2018-12-02
It has to be one word. SCiticels?

I wonder if It could have succeeded had it only gotten 5-10 million or something.
