I'd like to see these jokers' ideas of how to expand the rail network around geographical obstacles like the rocky mountains.
Its a nice idea, but every train needs a minimum ridership to pay for itself, and any attempt at "subsidizing" lower density rail lines would quickly turn into a political hot potato. Even when you have the rail line, you have to deal with the national railroad workers unions who will expect to get periodic raises to keep up with inflation. But god help you if you raise the fares to offset that. So public transit is actually a fun situation where the interests of laborers and the interest of the poor people who need the rail to go to work are actually in opposition.
And to top it off, these mongs think the only thing stopping public transit (or their democratic socialism) from working is deliberate sabotage.
It's not too late to change. If you knew your history, which of course you don't, you'll remember a time in America when Indians were dragged away from their homes and forced to assimilate into white society. Well, we want to change that kind of behaviour (sorry for my spelling, as I'm not from your country) by making sure you go to college and have a small apartment in a big, busy coastal city, where you belong. That will help you rid yourselves of your backward, incorrect culture and way of thinking. We'll do everything we can to make sure you agree with us and say all the right things and not be brainwashed against thinking the same way we do.
Why do people get off on the idea of taking a transportation system that costs just as much, requires you go to pre-determined locations at pre-determined times, and requires an additional transportation layer to get to and from those points to where you are actually going?
Cars provide personal freedom, and you just don't get that with public transportation. I can go where I want, when I want, and take as much stuff as I can fit with me without fear of being pickpocketed or robbed. Oh, and the $2 or whatever I have to spend on gas to drive across town is basically what I'd pay to take a subway or bus the same distance anyways.
The fact that bums piss in them is really just the icing on the turd sandwich that is public transportation.
Well then build a fucking public toilet then, you dense shits.
