It was women who demanded safe spaces for women. It was women who asked repeatedly for the right to vote until we finally got it without us ever having to go to war for it. And it was we women who insisted that you men make our schools and workplaces as safe as possible for women. Without the courage of women the world would be even more terrifyingly scary for women than it already is!

As an white woman who faces sexual harassment and has to navigate the toxic patriarchy on a daily basis, I just wanted to point out that patriarchy is the cause of all oppression. Racism is just an extension of patriarchy, so we have to keep the conversation focused on men’s oppression of women. The other thing we need to is centre oppressed women like me in these discussions. Were the real victims here.
