It was always weird watching Democrats fawn over Carter, despite his economic policies being anti-worker and more closely resembling Reagan's than any previous Democrat.
Yeah there was an ABC (anyone but Carter) movement in 76 and then Teddy Kennedy primaried him in 80 because he was seen as too religious and too much a deregulator. He was a bad president, however, because he was a terrible manager who used a hub and spoke system like Daddy's and couldnt delegate to save his life.
By almost all accounts though he is a really nice man.
