The way she worded it suggests the daughter is both of theirs and only the sons are from a previous marriage. Also, the sons were apparently with the mother until two years ago, so...
I dunno. I feel like the sudden addition of two step-children into her home because the mother became a drug addict probably wasn't something she signed up for. Suppose I date someone who has a child, but who does not have primary custody, and we build our relationship around them having their kid two weekends a month and the rest of the time we can go on romantic dates, take trips abroad, or have hot steamy, spontaneous sex on the kitchen floor. Then, if some unfortunate circumstances results in my SO suddenly being forced to take on primary custody and suddenly I'm taking on coparenting responsibilities while having to cancel our vacation plans, AmITheAsshole for wanting to tap out at that stage?
Yep. Idk why people are freaking out but I realized a majority of marriages dont work out. Most people here ARE from broken families. In my mind this made perfect sense from OP perspective. I highly doubt 2 males from a broken home with mommy issues are going to get the same benefit as someone reared in a good environment all through their secondary education. It's like throwing a junkie into the last 2 years of med school...let then get their GED first lol
The daughter wont ever stop resenting the males for wasting 2 years of school they didnt care about until it made THEM feel special. She will lose out on a lot in life because of step daddy's poor decisions. She could have the perfect childhood but these muts have to get in the way.
