The thing about "fake news" is that it's fodder for people's confirmation bias. They want to believe it because it confirms that the person is bad. Old people aren't going to change their minds, so they share information that props up their long held beliefs.

I don’t see why the senile boomers are allowed to vote while 16 year olds aren’t, they are just as, if not more, retarded. Seniors should have their voting rights stripped away, be put in homes and be fed mushed up carrots for the rest of their lives. That way they don’t interfere with the able-minded world.
