The Stone Age is also divided into three different periods. Paleolithic or Old Stone Age: from the first production of stone artefacts, about 2.5 million years ago, to the end of the last Ice Age, about 9,600 BCE.

*If* you can call a set of communally agreed upon morals as "religion" then there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. The problem with 'classical religion' is the supposed 'divine' nature of these morals. There's no cherry-picking in that. It is what it is. It's rigid and doesn't change with the times. It's immune to reason or newly found findings of any kind e.g treating drug addicts like low life sinners rather than looking at substance addiction like any other disease. (Most religions heavily contributed to our false understanding of substance addiction)
On the other hand, edgy nihilists are insufferable.
